I've been impressed with the Penn Slammer 360 spinning reel series. Not the 'smoothness' of the Stradic, but the durability and performance have been excellent. I'm fishing two of them, one with braid, one with mono. No complaints.

I don't know a bonefish guide I would recommend. I do know some people near the area you are renting. I'll make a few calls and see if I can get you some info.

RD: the caulking(some, not all) appears to have mold growing 'into' the caulk. I've put bleach on the caulk areas
and while it definitely helps with the surface, I can't seem to get the 'down deep' crud out. I've not had this problem
before and I'm wondering if I have some defective caulking ...

I'll be doing the regular boat prep for the upcoming year and am interested in your opinion: I will be replacing some caulking around several hatches and other items. I am seeing mold growth in some of the existing caulking. Would 3M 4200 be a good choice for replacement? has anyone used 4200 and ...

All being said: I love my onboard charging system and don't know how I got along without it ...

I had not heard that onboard chargers might damage outboard alternators(ouch). Wonder if putting a battery switch in the 'off' position would sufficiently isolate the outboard from the battery bank?
