Re: Lures -
I have found that a treble hook with one hook cut off is the sweet spot of ease of release vs hook-up ratio. It's that third hook that gets in the fish's jaw and then you can't back it out that's the problem for me. The single hook deal works on topwater if all you want is to see the strike....again...

Re: New boat question
Keep the G3 and buy another 22 or 24 Pathfinder. You can't make one boat do it all.....it's been tried.

Re: what's your Favorite boat food?
Extra Sausage biscuit left over from Hardee's breakfast and a Ham Lunchable are my just about every time lunch. I have room for a grill but doubt I would ever take the time to use it on a fishing trip. I usually spend 10 minutes eating and thinking about where to go next. (Hopefully, a spot that Tai...

Re: Visiting from Jacksonville, FL
Early this AM......when it was at or about freezing? Are you from Michigan? LOL Honestly, this time of year on the Island is tough sledding. When it warms up in the afternoon and the tide is high, try the flats on the bay side of the island for Trout and /or Reds. A trip to SGI in May or October wil...

Re: Does anyone know how to fix a sticky Shimano T-handle?
I have a closet full of Shimano spinners, many of them several to many years old. None of them have sticky handles. I rinse them with salt away and fresh water from the hose after each trip and keep them inside the house. Perhaps you have a bad handle or your care of that particular reel was lacking...

Re: Wear your PFD!!!
West Marine Coastal inflatable life vest with an ACR ResQLink 400 Personal Locator Beacon attached. I wear it the entire time I'm on the water. It's comfortable once you get used to it. I see guys talk about an EPIRB for their boat. I say the hell with the boat I want that helicopter homing in on me...

Re: Fishing this weekend Nov 21 -22 near St marks
IF you run 7 miles East of the lighthouse and "go North" you better have the right boat and/or good insurance. It's just one big minefield of rocks mixed in the grass. Welded aluminum tunnel hull, jet foot, local knowledge, clear water, bright sun, mid to high tide, all good ideas in that ...
Re: Storm Eta
We have had various boats in St. Marks since I was a kid back in the 70's. I remember lots of days we went down and moved or brought a boat home. I also remember several times I/we went down and the water was already over the road and we could not even get to the boat to bring it home. Moral of the ...

Gheenoe LT-25 For Sale. SOLD
I really do hate to sell her but I have too many boats. Gheenoe LT-25 with a pull start 2015 Yamaha F25. I'm the second adult owner, always stored inside and meticulously maintained. The hull still shines and the inside is clean. The engine has super low hours and still looks and runs basically new....

Re: CCA Star Tourney. Who's In?
Still no tagged red caught by a registrant. If I had a skiff, I'd be hammering around Lanark nearshore on every outing. I think they release tags near boat ramps, and they don't go too far from release spot. According to the CCA offical that released the tagged Red I caught, it was released close t...

Re: Seaark with gator tail vs jet drive
This is about the coolest Sea Ark build I've ever seen. It's exactly what you need. It could easilly be a center console model if you don't like the tiller deal.

$100 per hour.
$125 if you want to watch.
$150 if you feel the need to "help".

Re: Flares
IF.......you ever are unlucky enough to need to use those flares, I bet you would not discriminate against firing off the older ones.
You can't have too much ammo. In my humble opinion.

Re: St James 8/28
Nice fish.
You are lucky to have acess to a dock that holds fish. That is not always the case. I would strongly recomend you make sure not to post a picture that allows others to identify that particular dock or you might (will) have unwanted competition for your pet redfish.
