Re: New to Area looking for Boat Ramp Advice
Lanark is not the ramp for a 27' Grady. Too shallow, with no marked channel, and it's a private club you have to join. Go on down the road to Carrabelle. Several very nice launch at any tide ramps and a clearly marked deep channel. It's a short run back towards Lanark from there.

Pathfinder 25 Hybrid. It's what all the best dressed SW Florida guides run. $150k or so and you will be stylin' Red.

I would probably catch more fish with this, but it's just too damn ugly to put on my pretty boat. lol
Just kidding Dom, good luck with the sale. (I'm sure it will look great on your boat Showboat)

Jim the best price I found on the Check it Stick was online from Academy Sports. I also ordered a fish friendly landing net, Two items I have had little need for in the past, but you can't Boga Grip a big trout, they always shake off at the boat.

Kudos to you guys for the extra effort to incorporate photo release into the tournament.   I will put my money where my mouth was and enter some of the "out West" tournaments where my outboard skeg will be safe. ;-) All artificial is a big step too. That put's a...

Flyrod you might want to ditch that Craigslist link for an actual ad on here. Most folks believe Craigslist is 100% spammers and they are probably right. I'll bet you can sell that unit on here if you give the details.

Re: Sidescan on the flats
I believe you would be better served using your eyes than side scan.
Noticing a weedline, current break, color change, bait scattering, birds diving, and or all of the above will lead you to the fish.

Re: Keaton this past weekend?
I'm hearing scallop season was mostly a bust at St. Marks, so it may not be good at Keaton either. Lots of spring rain seem to have an adverse effect on the season.

Re: T-Top vs. Bimini
Tops are like most boat accessories, trolling motor, power pole, etc. It depends on how you use the boat most of the time. A 19' boat is probably the minimum size for a T-top. It will impact your fishing if you have 3 anglers who like to cast and retrieve. It does act like a sail so drifting and wor...

Re: Tournament Question: Seeking Input
Showboat in the tournaments I've been around the big prize was for total inches caught, not the biggest fish. So your honey holes of 26.999999" Reds is still good. lol
The fish do have to meet a certain minimum size, just no maximum size limit.

Re: Tournament Question: Seeking Input
No one can tell you you can't keep a legal fish within your legal limit for the area you are fishing. So you can take a picture for the tournament, submit it, and then release that same fish right into your cooler to become tasty fish tacos if you like. I kept and cooked the tagged Redfish I caught ...

Re: Who’s scalloping/fishing over the 4th of July weekend?
My son went to SM on Sunday. After getting chased around by the rain storms the total for 3 boats was about 50 little bitty scallops, that they ended up releasing so they could get big enough to eat one day. I started that day at 6:00 AM at the lighthouse ramp with 8 boats in front of me trying to l...
