Re: Fishing this sat. at Ochlockonee bay
There are many oyster bars and sand bars in front of the beach. Wade out and fish around those areas and look for surface action and diving birds. When the tide is out, you can almost walk across the entire bay so don't stay in one place to long (until you find the fish). Once the tide changes, the ...

Re: Bald Point report 7-23-2011
I was out there floating around in a boat and only got one 8 inch whiting. Dog days of summer!!! Talked with a FWC guy taking survey's and measuring fish at the boat ramp and he said no one was having any luck. One boat with three guys had 5 trout. I think I am going to shut it down until September.

Re: Steinhachee Scallops??
There is always a big flotilla on the weekends. The good folks of Steinhachee make their money this time of year and would appreciate a visit. Good Luck

Have All The Fish Left The Flats?
I know we are in the dog days of summer, but have all the fish left? I have been fishing hard for the last few weeks and my results have been poor at best. I fished hard both days this weekend with nothing in the box. I fished on incoming and our going tides at both St Marks and Alligator Point. Not...

Re: St. Marks Reds
Nice haul of Reds. I have not had much luck catching Reds lately but I think you have helped me solve my problems. I am going to try your "four yellow bait buckets" technique. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Tarpon
We saw several out near the stacks line at St Marks last Sunday in about 8 ft of water. They were active early between 8 and 10. Several broke water next to our boat and scared the living..... out of me once. We threw out a pin fish under a popping cork and had one hit it an missed. Low and behold, ...

Re: Flats boats to consider?
If you are putting three kids through college, I would recommend a Gheenee and a trolling motor. It is a greats flats boat as long as its not to choppy , or windy, and it is great on fuel.

Re: gator
RC, you make a good point and I certainly would have the same attitude but for paying for three kids to attend college. All that is left is a gheenee, a trolling motor and a pair of wading boots. One day I may grow up and get a big boy boat but that day is still far off. With that said, I have a fis...

Wade fishing an't for sissies!!! Be tough. Stay still and they wont bother you. Watch Swamp People on TV and get some pointers on dealing with those ditch lizards. If you put fish on a stringer, make sure it is a good ten feet from you and can easly come off you in the event a hungry shark wants you...

Bald Point
I had some yard work to do today but my Bride wanted to go to the Beach. So, not wanting to disappoint her, I reluctantly put my yard tools away and grabbed her beach chair. I have no desire to lay in the sun and tan my hide so I quickly thought of a place where I could fish and we could both enjoy ...
Cobia?
Has anyone noticed the arrival of the Cobia yet? If not, when can we expect them to arrive?

Smoking Fish
I was wondering if any of you fellow fisherman could share some secerts (I won't tell anyone) for smoking fish. Primarily mullet, spanish and kings. - What type of smokers work best - Do you use brines and / or seasonings - what temperature works best and for how long - what wood works best for smok...

Will, nice mess of fish. You and Brett had one heck of a day. Put Brett's "guns" to work cleaning those fish. I am glad you guys got to get out there. My son was to busy to fish with me today.

Re: FWC Proposes Increase to Red Drum Bag Limit
RC, thank you for the correction. I just assumed it was the FWC that set all Florida bag limits (insert assumed joke). The education on this site never ends, and I enjoy the opportunity to exchange opinions of varying degrees with the most knowledgeable fisherman around. Maybe I need some additional...

Re: FWC Proposes Increase to Red Drum Bag Limit
I am in favor of the increase. I don't see this effecting the stock as many of you do. I love to fish for Reds because of their action, but they are also one of the best eating fish we have. When I get the opportunity to fish, I want to bring home enough fish to last me until my next trip. If I can ...
