Re: Ochlockonee River State Park out to open water?
If you have a chartplotter or navionics its really easy. I used to bring my big trawler up there from surf rd. The northern part of the bay isnt marked very well and will be the only spot you gotta watch out for. The river itself is deep all the way. https://webapp.navionics.com/#boating@11&key=...

Re: St Marks or St Teresa Wade fishing
While being chased and wading through a swamp? I know where to shoot them but I know I wouldn't make that shot under pressure on a moving target.tailwaters wrote: I've killed several with a single shot from a 22. It's all about the placement!

Re: St Marks or St Teresa Wade fishing
I'd consider keeping a piece on you just for those kinda situations! I'm all for giving them some slack but sometimes you gotta reinforce the natural order of things and protect your own hide at the same time. I've had a few close calls with them now and don't plan on messing around with them anymo...

Re: Navigational App
I prefer marine navigator on android because you can download the NOAA charts ahead of time and don't need cell service to use it. Its free unless you want to actually use it to follow a track and then I think its $9. While not free Navionics works the same way. You don't need cell service to use i...

Re: Navigational App
Just want to clarify that you do not need cell service to use Navionics. You simply download the maps and they are on your phone.fishforfun wrote:Navionics has an app,as long as cell service is good. A hand held GPS such as Garmin will be more reliable

Watch the weather.. Crazy hot and a front coming through could equal some strong storms.Tallyfins wrote:Awesome! I may head to the lighthouse area on Saturday. Glad to see the water is clearing up. I'm gonna hit Shell Point at Blue Dolphin this afternoon to see what's biting!

Re: Good put-in/fishing spots in the Big Bend Area for kayak
You can put in @ the lighthouse with some reasonable effort. Basically where the road dead ends @ the parking lot for the lighthouse, there's an opening in the trees, easy launch other than a few large rocks to work around depending on how much you care about kayak scratches. This puts you near a cr...

Re: Good put-in/fishing spots in the Big Bend Area for kayak
Finally made it over to Wakulla Beach yesterday afternoon a few hours before low tide. The conditions weren't optimal but it was nice to get on the water and check the area out. I decided to go towards East Goose Creek and try my luck there. When I got there, I thought it was kind of small based on...

Re: Can power pins on fishfinder be repaired?
Ive fixed them and even fixed some broken solder joints inside the units themselves. I'm no expert so when I took mine apart it was 50/50.
It most certainly can be fixed by anyone who's decent with a soldering iron.

The world needs a win. I've been following this from the beginning and to be honest I will be genuinely upset if they aren't found.

Where I'm from(ms gulf coast) when the storms kick up hard you head to the oil rigs for the exact reason.
any attempt to get near something taller than you is heading in the right direction IMO.

There's fish out there if you can stand the brutal heat.
I'd rather dive into that cool spring water and have a burger afterwards.
