Re: Big Bend Fishing
More quality fish and how is a 3 man limit enough to make you drive 6 hours round trip?
Most anglers are glad it's happening but I agree about the commercial part being BS.

Re: New proposed trout regulations
Good.
3 is plenty although I don't like them not changing commercial limits they rarely do.
Trout has been the "meat backbone" of too many fishermen for too long. They face so much pressure in this area.

Been there with the steering..
Easy fix but really makes it hard to fish.

Re: Jaws Moment
Last shark attack in Wakulla county was in 1952 and in that one nobody was bitten. A shark was chasing fish and leapt into the boat, thrashed and then flopped out.
I will play those odds.

Re: Apalachicola Shore Fishing
Don't have any tips for the area but when you're back in Tallahassee try wade fishing wakulla beach with some live shrimp. When I was boatless I found it to be the most productive/easy to fish spot around. Head east along the grassline and you'll hit some oyster bars that are productive. Another spo...

Pretty clear you are the only one taking issue with it. He might not be the only one taking issue with it, but currently he is the only one posting about it here. X2 I try not to make a habit of arguing with old men. “A fool is made more of a fool, when their mouth is more open than their mind.” ...

Yawn.
There's two sides to every story and every political stance has a flip side.. At most you could be 50% right.
Crum's is good people so i'll continue to shop there.

Re: St Marks boat accident
Sickening because it was close to home, very young guy, not drunken stupidity and it could have happened to any of us. These incidents are rare and tragic. I'll admit right now that I rarely wear a kill switch unless the seas are rough and even more rarely wear a PFD.. I'll think of this kid every t...

Re: What do you want to say to FWC
Rather than a Jan/feb closure i'd rather see the over 20" done away with and maybe even move to a limit of 3. Let's face it trout bears the burden as an "eating fish" and IMO they need a break. Only reason I would like to see Jan/Feb kept open is that I like river fishing but can see ...

Re: Tailing Redfish *DRONE FOOTAGE*
I really enjoyed that footage. I agree with SG, scanning the flats with a drone to find fish seems a little over the top. The use of the flyrod on the other hand give the fish back the advantage so I suppose it evens out. BTW....the "Dude" on the bow needs to spend some time in the yard w...

Same story here just making sure I don't suck.J Holden wrote:Fished the St Marks up to the powerlines, caught bass and redbreasts. No saltwater fish. Didn't see any significant amount of fish out in the middle on the graph. Current was ripping and water was super high and dirty.

Re: Need a ramp for a quick run...
Newport ramp before you make the turn to the lighthouse and run north. 100' until you can run vs a decent area of no wake. Don't go too far up the river if the tide is low.

Nothing specific but where are they ?
I hate early winter fishing and my big boat doesn't show water temp with the ducer.
