Re: cobia off the lighthouse

That's all the ones I know of. I miss having the real St Marks light house when it fired up with a real light. You could see it for miles. I've had a couple "situations", before the gps era, when that light was damn near the most beautiful thing I'd seen in my life! I'm sure there are a fe...

Re: cobia off the lighthouse

What silverking said... I will add that when we fish over structure, we hang a pinfish 6 to 10ft directly under the boat with a carolina rig with enough weight to keep it there in the current. Cobia are curious creatures and they will come check you out, so making noise is a good thing. If one shows...

Opening Day

First trip of the season kikked off with a slow bite. We boated only 6 with just one 24-incher in the box. https://fbcdn-photos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/v/t1.0-0/11115671_10205310109246532_1340201343075962660_n.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9&oh=84b840ecbf53895f298f59b8f64a8c4c&oe=559FF157&...

Re: Public ramp access?

Always wished for a public ramp across the canal from the marine lab...but it's not the best idea for the fishery or the boat club and store so i can live without it.

Was cruising around yesterday and stopped by the Econfina ramp.
There was not one trailer parked in the lot.

Re: Painting aluminum hull question

Did mine in hunter green three years ago. Just cleaned, no primer. Has hung in there except for the high traffic spots. Hasn't peeled at all. Brushed it on, but use a spray can every now and then to touch up the worn areas. But then again, I got an beautifully ugly boat.

Aucilla/Pinhook river...
The Pin seems pre-historic until you see all the midden.
Must have been quite the place way back.

Re: Gentle On My Mind

You've been listening to Glen Campbell's playing on waaaaaay more of your favorite records than you realize. As a member of the "Wrecking Crew", along with Leon Russell, Dr. John, James Burton (Elvis' guitarist), and the incredible Carol Kaye on bass (mother of three played some of the fun...
