Homasassa/Crystal River is about their northern limit.
Apparently they do rarely get caught in this area.
I lost a fish couple years ago in the river that sho-nuff had a line down the side.
But then I have seen lots of things that sho-nuff weren't there.

Re: Garmin Software
Depending on which model you have, you need Mapsource. $30 from the Garmin site.
Mine doesn't have USB, it uses a SD card.
I loaded mine with the public numbers, hazards visible in older photos on Google Earth, and safe paths found on this forum.

Cedar Keys Question
Anybody fish Cedar Key?
I was wondering what's the deal with these structures east of town. Are they rubble piles? Clam farming?

Re: ANYONE HAVE OLD PICS OF OAKS OR JULIA MAES?
I remember $4 would buy you a chinette platter full of seafood at Julia Mae's, with grouper throats! The place would be full of locals and you'd be the only one eating seafood.

Here's a rig for ya. http://zydecozoo.com/jbs_tunnel_boat.JPG Whiteline 18 tunnel. Traditional mullet boat design adapted by Ralph White over in Blountstown. It has quite a history around here. It worked the Aucilla for several years. Old-timers tell me stories about the past owners, wild trips, and...

If this is what you are talking about, I can't find anything about restricting recreational fishing in the report. ??? http://www.whitehouse.gov/assets/documents/09_17_09_Interim_Report_of_Task_Force_FINAL2.pdf I hate the government and love to fish as much as the next guy. ("cept for FWC, DOD,...

Went out the Aucilla Saturday. No fish, but I did spot a beautiful chunk of Indian pottery on the bank.
