Re: Deep hole east of the rock garden

I've heard of bomb craters out there from the Camp Gordon Johnson training days. Never have found one, but know of folks who have found them on the flats. On google maps you can see round ponds that look like craters in the needlegrass by the pinhook.

Re: Drank the cool-ade

Interested in your review after a trip gulfcoast.
Aways wondered if they provide a superior fishing experience or a superior marketing experience.
Wouldn't want to spend my accordion lessons money on something stupid. :smt009

Pretty Good Day

Got out last Thursday to smooth seas and not-as-bad-as-I'd-thought-it-would-be water clarity. Fished live bait and had a pretty darn good bite most of the morning. Three keeper gags all 23". But here's what put a big smile on my face, first cobe of the year...inch short though, but bigger ones ...

Re: Aucilla Ramp

Back in the day I would sometimes ride along during running season out of the Aucilla. The guy I would go with could shoot that river wot in his birddog at just about the lowest tide. He steered by the silhouette of the treeline at night. Never once touched a rock.

Re: FWC

I appreciate them being out there. i have a unique boat that they seem to remember so i rarely get double checked. They used to have a sticker you could get after a safety check that would last a year made subsequent checks faster. The only harrasment i ever had was one guy wrote me a warning becaus...

Top one is a small king.
The lateral line gives it away.
Spanish have a dark front half dorsal fin.

Re: Newer to the Area need help

Consider up to now just practice. Since you've only been here since December, you have been trying during the slowest months. You ain't seen nothing yet! The fishing is just turning on around here and in about a month you will see a big difference. Keep it up, your not doing anything wrong, just the...

There will be herds of them hitting the area shortly.
It's not uncommon to hook into a dozen when we target them.

Re: Cool take on the PVC rod holder

I'm guilty of homemade pvc rod holders...tight budget fishing y'know I saw this a while back but decided against it because... The angle is too low I've had pvc fail because of just one connection. Probably no problem for a red, or trout, but a big spanish, cobe, or grouper would take your rig to th...
