Re: Hook removal from self
I've had to do the snatch method....
big ol hook...
Looped line around the shank...
Buddy yanked on two instead of three...
surprizingly painless with just a little drop of blood...
I was amazed!

"If you can see fish, you probably won't catch them."
Guy took me fishing late at night in back of Captiva Island. He literally snuck up on the dock we were going to fish.
Took one look...stood up and said we aren't gonna catch anything tonight.
I walked out on that dock, which was lit up, and ...

Re: Wakulla River questions and misc reports
What I remember from the time is...
The fence is blocking a navagable waterway...
Ed Ball, who owned Wakulla Springs before it was a state park, was sued, but prevailed mostly because judges really didn't mess with Mr. Ball/Dupont at the time...
Lots of folks cried foul...
What I learned from that ...

Re: Tips for Cobia Fishing (New to Big Bend Area)
Easiest way to catch cobia around here is definitely to anchor up somewhere and fish for something else. When you see the cobia show up and swim by the boat jump in and shoot 'em with a speargun.
Very true!

Re: Ideal fishing conditions for Apalachee Bay
When you cast off at dawn in in the mist, take a smooth ride out to your numbers, with a load of live bait, on a new moon, and you look at your buddy and you both know this is gonna get scary!
I look for those conditions.
