Re: Rock Landing Looks Bad This Morn
Ha. That's about where I am now. Just north of Beaufort. Been quite a blow here but nothing like down there. Watched a Periscope feed last night of a storm chaser driving between carrabelke and panacea. During the feed we watched a Franklin county cop hit a tree in the road and the guy chasing the ...

Rock Landing Looks Bad This Morn
Just saw some pix of the marina and it looks like it will be a while before they get back to dunking boats. Looked like all the decking that the fork lift drives on got damaged or is gone. The restaurant lost it's flooring. Looks like the big door to the boat barn is gone.

Re: Now $5 to put your boat in at Mashes
Well, the Wakalla Co. website says free parking for Mashes and a fee for the fishing pier.
I have cleaned up the park more than once.
And, finally, unless they pay the prisoners, it costs them zero to clean it up because the prisoners are brought in to do it.
Sorry about the negative nature of this ...

Re: Now $5 to put your boat in at Mashes
No you still drop off the end of the ramp and the mouth hasn't been dredged for two years.
As far as any thing else different, they did pave the entrance and exit to the ramp with the left over asphalt for the bike trail. Probably have to pay to use it soon too.
I don't like the new user fee "tax ...

And $2 to park at the beach and $1 to ride your bike to the beach. Thanks Wakulla Co. Also, I like the extra $100 I get to pay for the garbage removal and the extra 6% I'm paying on my phone, electric, water and cell phone bill.

Re: boom at mouth of OR
I will probably get out later this week after the storms pass. I will take a few pictures then. The tender that was at the mouth of the river was a really big boat/ship. I too think that the boom is pretty easily breached. It looks like you could buy it at Kmart, but I didn't try to pull it up and ...

boom at mouth of OR
Got out yesterday after the rain and a large tender was installing boom at the mouth of OR. There was a line of boom from Bald Point out to the markers. The boom had lights on them. The tender was working out far to the channel markers towards Mashes Sands Park. Looked like they were laying down ...

Fed Waters off limit next week off Panacea?!
I'm hearing that the FWC is telling the commercial guys to get them quick because they are shutting down the fed waters next week. Fact or Fiction? I know the guys are out there now fishing as hard as they can.

Re: Tide Creek Fish Kill 5.16.10
Sent my pictures to FWC biologist Susan Hilbert this morning. She said she would review them and get back to me. She said it may be due to the extreme tides this weekend and the lack of oxygen in the water. She said the nasty oily stuff they were floating in, could be there own oily juices they shed ...

Tide Creek Fish Kill 5.16.10
Came back from fishing at the mouth of the Ochlocknee this morning and was going to tie up my shrimp bucket to our community dock. As I approached the dock I could smell dead fish.
Looking into the water, I found a large fish kill of bait fish. All piled up in an oily slick against the weedline. I'm ...

Mashes Sand Christmas Day
Went out for 2 hours from noon until 2PM. Bite was nonstop with reds, gags and mostly blacks hitting the deck. Also, caught triggerfish and the biggest rocky we have caught in our short time we have lived here on the beautiful Big Bend. Fished in 30 feet of water 13 miles out. Caught them on cut ...

My son was in for fall college break and we fished Tuesday before he got on the plane to go back to school.
We fished in front of Piney for trout that were there last week, but only caught small ones. We caught some pinfish for bait so we could fish a little for reds before putting the boat on the ...
