Is the spring creek boat ramp the best place to depart from to fish oyster bay? Any pointers for navigating that area?

There is a county park called Emerson Point in Palmetto (north of Sarasota). My brother lives in the area and takes his son fishing there often. He says it is a pretty good spot for reds. The park has nice trails and numerous places to access the water.

Nice day of catching. Since you are offering tips, would you mind sharing what ramp you used. I heard the one at spring creek is closed so it seems the best choice would be shell point. I've not been up in oyster bay but it looks like it could be tricky navigating the bars.

What boat ramp did you depart from? I'm planning on taking my stepson fishing on Tuesday on would love to put him on a nice redfish and some trout. Was thinking of leaving from the lighthouse ramp or the one in St. Marks. From reading some of the posts it sounds like the fish are up the creeks ...
