TC, good idea about the split ring on topwater. I'll try it.

I use the improved clinch knot. When I have a lot of time I'll use the loop knot for topwater plugs. My beat up stubby fangers make it a time consuming process to tie it though, so usually wind up using the Improved clinh for everything.

I have the Garmin 176c, so not sure if it's set up like yours but will be glad to help you. I did that on mine last week. I initially messed up when I didn't set the correct chain number and secondary stations. But when I entered those correctly it worked fine.

PerryMan,
In the spring and summer I prefer St. Joe Bay, and East Bay at PC. In the fall and winter I target Apalachicola.
I was at UWF from '69-72. Got my bachelor's and master's in European history there.

Leer, we would hear about that happening over your way when I lived in Pensacola. Wished I was closer to take advantage of it. I think something similar happens with a certain species of fish along the beaches of northern California.

Robert, and his twin brother Richard, and I went through the history program together at UWF. His brother Richard lives down the street from me. Both good guys, but don't fish though.

For inshore fishing, I've had good luck with the Penn 4200ss. It's light and holds up well. Most of what I catch are speckled trout and an occasional redish, and the 4200ss with a light, fast tip rod makes for a good combination for me. Does Quantum make a light reel comparable to the Penn 4200ss? H...

It was a slow morning on the bay. Very windy so messed around in the Gulf County Canal. Caught some small trout, but no keeper size. Saw a good bit of baitfish activity on the surface and on the fishfinder. Hope that's gonna mean good things for the spring fishing. I don't know about you guys, but t...

Cranfield,
What if you just right click on the small photo in your "Photo Album," rather than opening it all the way? It'll stay smaller that way.
