Re: Dead Minn Kota iPilot control unit

Saw mine get checked out on the test bench today, and it worked fine for the technician while I was standing there. Probably a connection problem on my boat . . .or between my ears.

Re: Dead Minn Kota iPilot control unit

I tried out my new I pilot Saturday and it worked for a little while then when I moved to another spot and tried to turn it on it would not operate. Looking at the remote screen I saw a flashing "F" symbol. Nothing suggested in owners manual worked. I took it to the MK service center in Do...

Re: PA ALMOST KICKED THE BUCKET

Got the email this morning. Sure hated to hear about one of my fishing partners having a rough time of it and was glad to hear that you are on the mend. I guess the Old Man upstairs still has some work for you to do down here!

Thanks for all of your efforts in creating the forum and keeping it going Tom. I don't participate much in any of the fishing forums but I do visit once in a while, and this one has always been tops.

Re: St. Andrews Bay 5-28-11 and 5-30-11

FC, that sounds like fun. I'm heading to the St Andrews Bay area in the morning for a little trout/red action and taking along the fly rod in case I find 'em ganged up. I've been using the 5 wt line on bream/bass and need to have it stretched a little.

Re: Damn yellowflies!!!

Avon "Skin So Soft" works for me. When I fish the lower Apalachicola I take a small spray bottle of the stuff and apply the stuff liberally to hands, face, and neck. I also wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants, and use a pith helmet. All keep me in the game. Stuff smells good too. :smt0...

Re: 3 SPEND 22 HOURS IN WATER OFF COASTAL AL

Uh, yeah. Four. :-D There are some important lesson to be learned from that story. Keep a cool head; have PFD's close at hand; don't leave the boat; have a float plan; keep lines secured; make sure all equipment is functioning properly before casting off, in this case the bilge pump, plus an EPIRB w...

Re: Lets see some reports...

PA since the last time you went with me they have let some water out down there. Early that morning it seemed like we were almost out of sight of land before we got into some four foot water. We eventually found some of those "splodin" trout though and we had a good day. I hope everything ...

Re: Lets see some reports...

It WAS a bit low Saturday morning. We saw one guy heading back upstream, using his trolling motor; he had hit a rock with his outboard and it had seized up. A bad day for him.

Re: Old Tackle

Old Tackle? You wanna see old tackle? The Old Man of the Sea PA (Futchcairo) let me look in his tackle box on a trip to Econfina a few years ago. There was some old tackle in that box, some homemade stuff too. OD One of PA's boxes. I think he brought several on that trip. . http://img.photobucket.co...
