Re: Fishing St. Marks Area
The ramp at the fort was recently redone and is a nice place to launch. Deep water launch with adequate parking.

Re: Yes I am a redneck, are you?
I think I qualify. I told my wife that while flying about three months ago, I was asked to stand in what I know now was the full body scanner. I did as I was asked by TSA, the proceeded on to my flight never even realizing that I was violated. What is the big deal?

The mackerel in your pic is a Spanish. I have found the best way to tell is the dark spot on the top fin. If you look at a juvenile king and a spanish side by side, it is a noticeable difference. Nice fish and thanks for the report.

Might have been the same guy that trolled by me and got his lure hooked in my anchor rope. Given the expanse of the Gulf, just thought it was a little close myself.

Port St. Joe - 7/31/10
Was able to get out today. After changing all three batteries after the twins wouldn't start (they were four years old - didn't do any troubleshooting), we finally got some baits in the water about 10:30. That was after leaving our hotel room in Pt. St. Joe at 6:00 am so we could get at it early. An...

Re: New to salt water boating. Need info.
I use a Mako 191 (19') bay boat with a 90hp and fish exactly as you are describing -- flats, nearshore trolling and nearshore reefs. Been out 6-9 miles many times in it. The 191 has rolled gunnels making it a mcuh dryer boat. You are getting some great advice in the posts above. Take it all in and g...
