Re: The BP oil rig
Unless I get a 100% guarantee this won’t happen to us, I will strongly oppose any drilling off our coast. I don't care if this is a conservative fundamentalist or a left wing liberal stance. What I care about is fishing, diving and hunting in my home waters. If I have to pay 5 more cents a gal at th...

Re: Snook in North FL?
I was watching a fishing show about a year ago. Don’t remember who it was but they were tearing up the snook in Jacksonville. It surprised me because I didn’t think they came that far north. I have very little knowledge of Jacksonville but they were fishing in what looked to be down town. The other ...

Re: ideas needed.
Just pulled the carb apart and think I found the problem. There was a bunch of black gunk in a brass fuel tube that was inside the carb. Now I just need to remember how it all goes back togeather. Thanks for the help. Once I figure out how it goes back togeather we will see if that did the job.

Need help getting a 1999 6hp Johnson 2 stroke to run with maybe 40 hours of use on it. Back Ground: The motor has sat for about 10 months and was serviced by a professional mechanic about 14 months ago. It ran fine last time I used it but now it won’t start. What I have done so far: Since it sat for...

Re: Apalach Grouper fishing 4/17/10
It's nice to hear someone caught some keeper grouper. I have fished out of St. Marks in 30 feet the last two weekends and only had one over 22 inches.

Tight steering cable?
Got in my boat the other day and the steering was very tight. It isn't locked up but pretty hard to turn the motor. If anyone has any advice on what I can do to loosen it up I greatly appreciate it. The boat is only 2 years old if that matters.

Gift idea for the wife
Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this: Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little som...

Re: Does anyone beside me think......
When it comes to top water plugs the color on the top doesn't matter. The fish only see the bottom of the plug. All those fancy patterns on the top are just there to get you to buy it. I look for three things when buying a top water plug. Deep sounding rattle, good hooks and a little pink or red on ...

Wakulla Beach 2/14
Went to Wakulla Beach on Sunday with two friends. We took our kayaks and fished the incoming tide looking for Sheephead and Red’s. Bait of choice was shrimp and Gulp jigs. Covered a lot of water and fished hard for a good 5-6 hours. None of us caught a single fish. We were fishing the west side. At ...

Permit question
Last year a friend showed me a picture of a Permit he caught several miles south of SGI. It looked to be around 25lbs. I had never heard of one being caught this far North and wanted to see if anyone else has. Is this normal?

Kevin's Gun's and Sporting in Tallahassee has a good selection of fly fishing gear.
