Re: ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?!!!!!

So, this magical dude lives in the North pole, and spends all year making toys and spying on little kids. One night, each year, he flies around the Earth in a magical sleigh, carried by 8 magical reindeer, and delivers gifts by sneaking into your home through your chimney. If you've been good, you g...

Re: mullet netters question?

The air boats doing it sure get loud, even at a distance. Wonder they ever catch anything with the racket and all the gyrations they seem to do. The air boaters are just like everyone else. Some of them are out there being respectful of others and just trying to have a good time or earn a living. O...

Re: mullet netters question?

The black mullet spawn this time of year (usually a little earlier), so this is when they have roe (eggs). Mullet roe is considered a delicacy by many, and it greatly increases the commercial value of a mullet. When they are spawning (the mullet run), it is also the easiest time to catch them in a c...

Re: mullet netters question?

The mullet run was slow to get started this year, and is still going in places. If they were throwing cast-nets, they were probably mostly recreational. Most commercial mullet fishermen use seine nets. If done properly, it's pretty rare to catch anything in the net other than mullet. That being said...

Now you're just being gross.
But I did meet a guy once who claimed to have eaten pelican.
He said he wouldn't do it again.

Re: Rat problem

I wonder how a grilled rat would taste... They are not that great grilled. They don't have enough fat, and the meat dries out really quick. I've never tried wrapping it in bacon, but it may be OK. Eating rat requires a few extra steps. First, you have to use a live trap. Go to a pet store and buy a...

No bird will be safe if they don't extend red snapper season. Heck, before long, you won't be able to swim at the beach................

Re: Rat problem

Trying to smoke them out seems unnecessarily dangerous and tedious. I've had much better luck with glue traps than spring traps in the past.
Peanut Butter as rat bait = It attracts well, and keeps them there longer, increasing likelihood of success.

Trees down and some wind damage, but no storm surge like they had with Hermine last year.

Re: Taylor County Boys

Other than some trees down on fences allowing the neighbors cows into our hay field, no real damage. I even got power back the next day.

After Hermine & Matthew last year, and Harvey in TX this year, I don't know anyone who's not taking this threat seriously.
After no power for almost a week last year, I said I'd have a generator by this year. Still don't have one..........

I've been trying to decide what to do with my 3 day weekend coming up. Food plots and tree-stand work sounds like a good plan.
Thanks for the idea!

Re: Homemade Sausage

Leggs sausage seasoning. Follow the directions on the package and you can't go wrong. I agree. We always add 1/2 box brown sugar and about 1/4 cup red pepper flakes to each 25 lb batch. If you don't like it hot, leave out the red pepper. If you use the whole hog, and she wasn't too thin, ...
