Re: Reef Fishing advice request

I know you'll get several helpful replies, but here's mine: Try to catch pinfish on the grass flats, assuming you have a live well, if not frozen or fresh squid or cigar minnows will work. Get one of the available public reef lists with GPS numbers and start dropping on some of them from 50' on out....

Re: 2021 recreational red snapper season

Thanks, good info. Now if they would just give us dates for the season. Lot of folks need to get vacation time and/or find a place to stay. As important as the rec fishery, and especially Red Snapper, is to Florida's economy you would think they would try to make it as easy as possible for anglers t...

Re: Top Sportfishing Brands for 2020

I saw that on the Fishing Wire this morning. Interesting stuff but it seems like it was really a survey of fresh water anglers based on the selected products. I'd like to see a survey like this specifically for salt water.

Re: Piney-Z FADS added

Several years ago I worked at the Capitol during session every year. I had a real good friend who was a legislator and had gotten to know the lady that owned the Piney Z ranch. She had given him a gate key and we fished the lake many times. Back then, with very few folks having a chance to fish ther...

Re: St. Marks Refuge - Staying Open?

I called the number that is on the Econfina web site this morning and spoke to them about the park being closed and was told it was and bath rooms are locked but he said I will tell you this we do not have away to close the boat ramp from use and he said I will leave it at that. I said it got it , ...

Re: St Andrews State Park this weekend, need advice

You can get pinfish on the grass and use them for Redfish on the flats and on the Jetty. Probably better on the jetty right now.

Re: 2020 Fishing Goals

I have fished a good bit from St Marks to Destin inshore and offshore, so I really want to see more of the good spots on the Gulf. I have a couple trips I want to get done this year, one trip in the spring and the other in the Fall. 1. Trailer my skiff down and spend 2 full days fishing out of Sea H...

Re: Post Cold Front Fishing

Take it from a former FL guy that is up in N GA where it has been raining for 3 days and will be 33 tomorrow morning: any time you can go, go!
Should be some fish up the rivers; good luck.

Re: Red snapper management possible changes

You must understand that if you go to a tag system there is a great possibility that there will not be enough tags for all the fisherman that want some. Once the tags are given out and NOAA determines that the harvest will be reached by the amount of tags given out there will be no more tags . Recr...
