Re: Reel/Rod Maintenance & Repair…
For general maintenance I recommend a good rinse of the rod and reel with fresh water after each trip. Follow this up with an application of a salt removal product, (salt-away, salts-gone, salt-off...etc.) and then a final rinse. Go ahead and cut your leader or lures off. Crank the handle to spin of...

Re: Steinhatchee sheep hunt 3/14
I am wanting to head to Carabelle soon. Reds, Trout, Pompano, and maybe Tripletail are on my list to do this year.

Re: So following up on the Gag discussion
So following up, the reason the average length of gags is 160mm is because they count the releases as 0 so that reduces the total length. And it's total length in the data, so adjusting the data to actual catches and averaging the length to per fish instead of total length the data shows an average...

Re: So following up on the Gag discussion
My curiosity is well beyond peaked. Who is collecting the data from recreational anglers? Are there Fed. scientists roaming the waters? Are they collecting data from the USCG? I hear of FWC regularly inspecting anglers, but USCG? Not often enough to produce any data. If the average length of Gags is...

Re: Passing of "PA" Futchcairo
Pa was a special person. I enjoyed his posts and stories. In the past few years I was amazed that his physical limitations were frequently interrupted by projects around the house. Painting, ladder climbing, boat repair and such were just a few of the things he did in between recuperating from illne...

When you find them
I have not been out as much as I would like due to weather and scheduling issues, but when I was able to get out, the fish I was able to find were eager to bite. The river produced as some trout, but as usual for this time of year, most were short. I have been able to find some larger trout and redf...

Headwaters Lake, that's it. I'm glad someone chimed in, it has been driving me nuts trying to remember the name.

Re: February bass locations
I have heard recently that there is an area that just opened near the "Stick Marsh" and "Farm 13" that is producing large numbers of over 5# Largemouths. I wish I had more specific information, but this might give you a starting point. Fellsmere maybe? Nope not Fellsmere, I thin...

Re: St. Marks??
Went out with two friends yesterday. We launched from the lighthouse ramp at around 9am. We headed west and caught a few trout in a creek near John's Island. We went to an area near Big Pass and picked up a few more trout, one rat red, and a short flounder. All in all we caught 12-15 keeper size tro...

Nice report. It looks like you had a great day on the water. You must have found them in fairly shallow water, no evidence of barotrauma in those pics.

Re: T-Top Replacement?
I remember some folks out HWY 20 that did T-tops and boat covers. Unfortunately I can't remember their name or the exact location. Maybe someone will chime in.
