Steinhatchee Trout Bite

Anybody with some reports between Keaton and Steinhatchee? I'll be there Mon - Fri hoping to catch some trout mainly. Maybe a red and some Spanish also. Any info would be appreciated. Tight Lines!

T-Top vs. Bimini

Currently have a 2005 Scout 17.5’ CC boat with a bimini top. Looking at a 2021 Scout 19.5’ CC with a manufacturer installed T-Top. I am an inshore fisherman with occasional reef trip. Boating around to the islands and just enjoying the view in addition to fishing with wife, adult kids, and friends. ...

Keaton Beach Scallops

The scallops are there for the taking at Keaton Beach. Just have to get out in 7-8' of water and work some for them. Not piled up on each other, but there. This year the scallops are as consistently fat as I have seen. We got 1/2 gallon of shucked scallops from about 8 gallons of scallops. They were...

Re: Shout out to Big Bend Marine

You won't go wrong with Big Bend Marine. They are great people and do great work. Been servicing my boat there since 2009. I live in Tallahassee and work in Perry so it is also convenient. If I started working in Tallahassee, I would still carry it to them.

I might take off Friday and go scalloping at SM. An hints as to where they are? Many thanks!

Re: Advice Please: St. Marks or Keaton for Scallops?

Had a great scalloping trip to Keaton! Picked them up in 2' of water off of Sponge Point. Then went out in front of Grassy Island near the bird rack and finished them off in about 4' water. The four of us almost got our limit - but we got what we wanted. Cleaned them on the water which is much bette...

Re: Advice Please: St. Marks or Keaton for Scallops?

Thanks for the advice guys. I have managed to get access to a private ramp near Keaton tomorrow so that is where we will try. Keeps us away from the crazy public boat ramp scene at Keaton. My guess is it will resemble the English Channel when I find the scallops there also!

Advice Please: St. Marks or Keaton for Scallops?

I am planning my one and only scallop trip this weekend with my wife, son, and his GF. He loves scalloping. I am 50 min from St. Marks and 1.5 hours from Keaton. Are they still a plenty at St. Marks? I have never scalloped there - only at Keaton. Any hints on where they are out of St. Marks? I prefe...

Crystal River

Any of you guys familiar with inshore fishing out the mouth of Crystal River? Are there some good, easy to access grass flats?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Lanark Village Fishing Question

Looking to put in at Lanark Village Saturday and carry my wife over to the islands. We will also have a couple of hours to wet a line. Can anyone give me some tips on the best places around the Lanark Reef for best shot at some trout fishing? Between the Lanark Reef and rhe coastline? Dog Island sid...

St.Marks 4-23

Got there about 10:30am to target fishing the high tide. LOTS of boats out today - turned out pretty. Action was pretty good the first 2 hours but only 1 keeper. Slowed down the rest of the day. Lost one nice keeper (jumped out of the boat). Probably caught 25 trout between us but only the 2 keepers...
