Deer season is over but HOG season is just beginning ……

With deer season over it’s time to start playing with the feral hogs. There are plenty of them in Northeast Florida …. https://photos.smugmug.com/Hog-Hunting/i-JzVmGkk/0/cb2a9aa6/XL/IMG_4020-XL.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Hog-Hunting/i-rKQsrGn/0/84c04ee3/XL/STC_0064-XL.jpg https://photos.smugmug....

Re: Union of Glock G40 MOS 10mm, a small rail mounted green

Thank you. I just cut two saplings and lay them together and bind them tightly towards the thinner end leaving 2-3 inches extending past the binding junction. Then spread them out on the ground and I have formed an "X" in the top portion that I'll brace my handgun on.

Union of Glock G40 MOS 10mm, a small rail mounted green LED

I’ve been working through finding a suitable red dot for my Glock G40 MOS 10mm that will allow me to shoot under low light conditions (still legal shooting time) and at night hog hunting. Up until now I’ve had a 3 MOA Vortex Venom that has worked quite well with the exception of under low light cond...

Interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
From an energetic standpoint that consumed a lot of energy for that meal.

Re: First hog with night vision and first 2 hogs with new Gl

If you want to pick them up, you need to shoot them in the head. FF you are exactly correct on the headshots. https://photos.smugmug.com/Category/Hogs/Big-Pig-2016/i-zBwKq9z/0/3cafc1d4/XL/P1050289-XL.jpg My lil 15 year old with a BIG pig. Head shot with a lil 5.56. We were anticipating little 60 lb...

First hog with night vision and first 2 hogs with new Glock

It’s been too long since I’ve last posted……. The water has now gotten too cold to shark tooth dive (47 degrees F) so I took a stand with two new pig toys: a new self-built 300 Black Out pistol (10.5 “ barrel) with a ATN X-Sight II digital night vision scope and a brand new Glock 40 MOS 10mm with a V...

Re: Cedar Key scallops (U/W photos) and red snaps: 7/3 – 7/4

Red snapper encrusted in salt (or red snapper hatching) I posted this on the forum recipe site but thought I’d tag this onto my report too……. This recipe is easy to do, requires little in ingredients and has a unique table” flare” to it. For a 3 - 4 lb red snapper [/b]: scale fish remove guts and gi...

Re: Cedar Key scallops (U/W photos) and red snaps: 7/3 – 7/4

Nice flounder. Got a pic of your float marker. I don't have a photo but the small flexible weight is a 1 lb soft diving weight with 10 feet of lines wrapped around the weight and a fishing cork on the end. We carry them in our zippered pocket of our swimming shorts. Heck you could also use bottom f...

They are just disposable Chinese food take-out type containers. They stack and you can carry a bunch. Helps to keeps the boat clean.

Cedar Key scallops (U/W photos) and red snaps: 7/3 – 7/4

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything……… this is a tad long with a lot of U/W photos but it tells a nice story. With 18 yr old Casey home for a short 4 day holiday break from the summer session at the Univ of Texas at Austin he wanted to scallop and do some fishing before he returned back to ...
