Re: Upcoming Rockin' Reds Tourney

Last day for early registration. As it stands now: First place in redfish will pull in $1,700, this doesn't include the possibility to win $500 for being closest to the target weight or $500 for having the biggest Redfish weighed in on Saturday, nor the $1,000 that can be won by a SeaTow Member. The...

Upcoming Rockin' Reds Tourney

The 3rd Annual Gage Pitman Memorial Rockin' Reds is right around the corner. Early registration ends on June 16th. This year we added a Kayak and Kids Division (both one day - Saturday) and reformatted some of the payouts for the Jackpots so hopefully more money will spread around to more anglers. T...

Re: Tournament Question: Seeking Input

No one can tell you you can't keep a legal fish within your legal limit for the area you are fishing. So you can take a picture for the tournament, submit it, and then release that same fish right into your cooler to become tasty fish tacos if you like. I kept and cooked the tagged Redfish I caught...

Re: Tournament Question: Seeking Input

Don't have it on my wife's birthday! :D    A $150 entry fee and a $50 Jackpot fee ($200 total) did pay out $6,300 for just two Redfish. Maybe next year if it falls on her BD you can make the case that ya'll "NEED" to be fishing so you can win some money to buy her som...

Tournament Question: Seeking Input

If you fished the Rockin' Reds Tournament in Panacea last weekend and have any comments, ideas, suggestions on how to make it better, would you please let me know? We sought suggestions after last year's tournament which resulted in this year there being a Trout Jackpot added, as well as 5 places be...

Re: Great Return On An Investment

Interesting viewpoint. I had not ever considered a fishing tournament as an investment. I wonder if my wife would buy that? She is always after me to quit wasting money on boats and fishing and concentrate on contributing to our investments. First place on the Redfish is over $2,000 now, that...

Great Return On An Investment

Top Redfish at this weekend's Rockin' Reds will pay a minimum of $1,500 (this will grow this week as registrations flow in). If it's weighted in on Saturday, it will also win the Saturday Big Redfish Prize of an extra $500. All entry fees are returned and the Redfish entry fee is only $150 per BOAT ...

Re: Rockin' Reds Tournament 6/25 - 6/26

If you get the chance, check out the Gage Pitman Memorial Rockin' Reds Tournament in Panacea later this month. 100% payout of entry fees, five places will be paid out, and there will be plenty of Calcuttas, including a Trout Bag. $30,000 was paid out last year. If you don't like to fish, there will...

Upcoming Rockin' Reds Tourney

The registration for the upcoming Rockin' Reds has now opened up. ALL entry fees go back to the anglers, $30,000 was paid out last year, and this year we have added a Trout Jackpot and increased the payouts to five places instead of three. It's a good time for a great cause, check out our Facebook p...

Shotgun Shells: Dove Loads

Does anyone have a lead on getting some 12 ga. shells for the upcoming dove season? Finding any in the area is pretty challenging. Any tips are appreciated.

Re: ST George Island--places to eat

Family Coastal for the seafood option and The Red Pirate for the low-budget burger/family option. Both restaurants are on the north side of the bridge, i.e. Eastpoint. If in Apalach, stop by Oyster City and Up To No Good Tavern (they have a great pizza too). It's hard to go wrong with anything in th...

Re: Rockin Reds Fish Tournament!

Red beard alot of teams didnt go to weigh in because a bunch of em were catching alot of 5 to 6 pound reds knowing that's not gonna win for big red. The weight that won was six pounds and some change. So I don’t know why someone catching 5-6 range wouldn’t weigh in. And there was a two day aggregat...
