Re: GPS Format

That's not decimal degrees, it looks like dms without spaces to me, is that supposed to be a point near raffield island? It is supposed to be Raffield Island but the marker falls near the island and not on it when I entered the numbers.. one reason I don't think I'm using the right format. Here's t...

GPS Format

I'm trying to enter some more public numbers into my chartplotter but I'm not sure what format these numbers are: Lat: 3002.129 Lon: 8525,845
I know it's not degrees, minutes and seconds, and I don't think it's decimal degrees.... what format is it? It's not Loran is it? :hammer:

Re: Minn Kota Riptide 112 lb.Thrust 60" Trolling Motor wI-Pilot and Remote For Sale $1000

Imo mainly because of battery requirements and weight a 12 v 55 lb thrust is enough trolling motor for a 17 ft boat unless you fish in strong currents or wind...then I'd go with 2 batteries and the 24 v - 80 lb thrust.

FTReelty wrote: May 13th, 2021, 1:55 pm Will it work for a 17 ft Key West?
It would but you'd need 3 - 12 volt batteries and that's a lot of weight for a 17 footer and 112 lbs of thrust is overkill for a boat that size.

Re: Stone Crab Traps

Stone crab traps have the entry hole on top of the trap and they're usually weighted where I believe the entry holes for blue crab traps are on the sides.
I bet I built a couple thousand stone crab traps years ago.. got a missing finger for my efforts

How can I put this without giving away the best spots? :-D
I fish below the dam some but mainly running water down river.

Re: another Chattahoochee River Report

I fudged a little. It was a total right knee revision and it's actually been almost six weeks and like I said, it's about 80%. Not good enough to climb on the tractor and mow the fields yet but good enough to fish. :-D
Good luck if you're getting one.

another Chattahoochee River Report

First time fishing since a knee replacement a month ago so I really needed a fishing fix but since the knee is only about 80%, I decided to stay close to home and fish the river rather than going to the gulf. I caught 3 small large mouths and 23 hybrids and stripes before the sun shut them down. Bea...

I read it the same way but was afraid to ask. :-D If he connected a 12VDC motor to 120AC I hope for his sake there's a breaker inline otherwise, he's now got a spare anchor :hammer:

Re: Trolling Motor Power issue

There might and should be a breaker between your battery and trolling motor. Could be tripped.
