My home state of MO is encouraging fishing and dropping the requirement for a fishing license.

Re: Finally--Learning to Catch Sheepshead
I just don’t understand all the fuss about cleaning sheepshead. Its just a big bluegill with a tough skin. Sure I wouldn’t want to clean 50.

Buying bait on a Sunday
I don’t do live bait often.

Re: Removing fish hooks from humans (or fishermen)
Try it in a yak by yourself. My first experience, I was fishing friends and the barb was exposed. We cut the hook below the barb and backed it out. Easy peazy. My second experience, I was by myself, out of state. Hooked was imbeded. I saw some folks, swimming, and walked a stranger thru yanking it o...

Fourteen.
I believe fishing improved a lot this weekend. I fished a local tournament Sat. Big trout(mine) was 24 1/4”. I probably caught 5 over 20” Sat. Just like Gary I fish from a yak. Get up early and fish shallow. If you want to catch more big trout, let the big ones go. We also did a lot of dragging Sat....

Re: Freezing Trout
I take trout to MO every year frozen in water. No problem with them up to a year old. I’m just glad I found something besides bluegill and crappie that are plentiful that she will eat.

Re: First time in my kayak
Can you tell me the brand/model of what you described in your first post? I would like to either buy yours or get one from the manufacturer! Gary Droze 850-942-7333 gdroze@maclay.org Gary, You might want to check out the native ultimate 12. It weights 44 lbs and has a nice seat. Seems perfect for y...

Re: First time in my kayak
I’ve been doing the kayak thing now for over 10 years. I would only go back to a boat if I someday I have grandkids. I own 3. Each has a different purpose. They range in weight from 40 - 100 lbs. I fell in love because it reminds me of the lifestyle I grew up with. We could have never afforded a boa...

What do you want to say to FWC
I think we should just leave it alone. I am just tired of people trying to change the limits because they are not catching fish. Assuming people recommending changes can’t catch fish is laughable. Most everyone recommending changes are the folks who do catch fish regularly and fish more often than ...

Re: What do you want to say to FWC
I think a good trade off would be: No minimum size limit on trout. Or bring it down to 12-13”. No harvesting of trout over 20”. The point of both of these is to encourage the harvesting of smaller inferior fish and eliminate the harvest of bigger ones. They’ve already done something similar with bas...
