Re: Crum's Mini Mall - Panacea, For Sale?
A lot of folks on here talked about boycotting him due to his suit over net band. He released a statement that he was not attacking the net ban, he was attacking the small net mesh size because it was causing too much kill of smaller fish. He and his staff have always been very friendly and I hate ...

Re: Buying a big bend house
Barry went on a few trips with me and got a feel for what I wanted by looking at them with me. We had a target for what we wanted and it was moving a bit as we looked at places. I was searching sites as well and found a perfect location on a Sunday online. I called Barry first thing Monday to tell h...

Re: Too Fast, Too Furious - St. Marks Drift (Oct. 6th)
Do you use a drift sock? Just curious how bad the wind was. I have not been out a whole lot lately. LOL Great minds think alike. I also like how it holds the boat in the wind, making a rough day a little smoother. We put a float on ours, so if we catch something big, we can just unhook it and come b...

Re: New trout rules
Thanks for the response Chris! After thinking on it a bit more, what you guys thoughts about requiring that all fish over 19" be released year round? A fella can't keep a 28" Redfish, why should he keep a 21" trout (note: I have kept a couple that size and bigger). I wouldn't disagre...

Re: New trout rules
After more than a few February trips, I wonder if leaving it at 5 all year and closing it in Jan and Feb would have had the same effect on the numbers. I recall one day a few years back when you could walk from boat to boat on the Aucilla and everyone was catching. When a guy at the ramp asked me if...

Re: New wal mart gun rules
An aside, but I think most CCW know this. A sign that says "No Concealed Carry" in the State of Florida does not hold the authority of law (unless it is a place that concealed carry is not allowed by law). What this means, is you are free to concealed carry. If you are asked to leave and r...

Re: New wal mart gun rules
This is a tempest in a teapot. I saw no one lose their minds in the other thread and I see no one that considers "Walmart" beloved. The reason it does not affect me either way, I outlined in the other post. I only shop at Walmart when no other choice. I also do not buy from their sporting ...

Re: Dicks Sporting Goods
The "stats" was about my post way earlier about murder vs gun death stats. I will take your word about Walmart selection now. back before the Remington 870 quality slipped across the board, Walmart had a sub standard quality 870 that was cheaper than anywhere else. It was made cheaply too....

Re: Dicks Sporting Goods
No Salty. I have looked at a gun at Dick's. Never bothered to look at Wally World. There is not much to say, we beat the horse, it is dead. I'll do me and y'all do you. Really? Why is that? That gave similar inventory. Why wouldn’t you bother to look at wal mart? Mostly? Because I live in Quincy an...

Re: What would you do?
What probably would have happened for me is that I would have blacked out. When I woke up, my least expensive fishing pole would be broken to pieces and the two arseholes would have been covered in welts corresponding to the diameter of the pole. Someone would have had an arse whooping. Glad I carry...

Re: Boat / Marine Electrical Work
Looks great. Having the right tools (wire stripper, heat gun for shrink tubing, clamp for quick connects, marine bus, proper terminal ends, etc) makes the job relaxing for me. I enjoy rewiring stuff. Is that weird? That's how I feel, now . Ended up with a bunch of new tools also with all the cash s...

Re: Cranking Battery Question -
Is that not the alternator?A perfect voltage with the engine running is between 13.7 and 14.7V.
I have never owned a battery that I have tested that has been at 13 V or over when sitting idle, but I am probably not typically testing brand new batteries.

Favorite knots
I just repaired all rods and put fresh line on every rod I own (too many) and I thought it may be fun and informative to put our favorite knots for certain situations. As a former volunteer firefighter and now vet surgeon, I love knot tying and always am willing to try something new. While fishing t...
