Hi everyone! I've been having a little trouble logging onto this board (problem is on my end) but anyway, here's my report.....
I had a great inshore trip with John and Amy Harper from Amherst, Mass. This was their third trip with me and we always have a good time. Saturday was no exception as we ...

Carrabelle offshore report by Capt. Bob
Hot weather this weekend didn't slow down the Grouper bite offshore as Capt. Jimmy had another banner day with his party of 4 on Saturday. I sat out this trip because I had a late afternoon inshore trip with John and Amy Harper from Amherst, MA, which I'll tell you about later. First, I'll brief you ...

Carrabelle offshore report by Capt. Bob
Wednesday morning came early for me and Capt. Jimmy as we prepared for a 12 hr offshore trip with the Anderson Party from Albany, GA. I was looking forward to this trip as this would be the first time I would be fishing with Capt. Jimmy on an extended offshore run.

I had some great trips the last couple of days in spite of rapidly changing weather. There's a lot to talk about so let me begin with a late afternoon trip on the 12th with Hal Ansbar and son.

Carrabelle report from Capt. Bob Soderholm
After a cancellation and a little juggling of the schedule, I made several fine trips this week with fair to good flats action. Tarpon are roaming and eager to strike a wide selection of baits. When site fishing, I like to use plastics. One of my favorite rigs starts with a Gorilla XXX hook and 3 ...

Carrabelle report from Capt. Bob
A nice day on Wednesday greeted me and my party of one for a day of flats fishing. Greg Austin from CO is a good repeat customer of mine and is excellent in the use of top water lures. We started out deep in the "Hockey Hole" just outside the Carrabelle River. Numerous Ladyfish and a few Blues ...

Carrabelle, July 5th and 6th by Capt. Bob
Thursday was another day of scattered storms that kept me and my party of three moving around the Gulf. We ended up fishing a hole in 60 feet and found a few Grouper, Seabass, and lots of mixed bottom fish for 14 year old. Another storm forced me to move closer to shore so we stopped at 42 feet on ...

Carrabelle 7/02/02
Another perfect day for fishing the flats in Carrabelle with light winds, clear water and hungry fish. John and Pat Hinkley were the lucky angers to join me on the Sole Searcher for what turned out to be a memorable day.

SE of Dog Island
A nice day greeted me and my party of 6 for a day of offshore Grouper fishing. We headed deep to the SE of Dog Island with a livewell full of Pinfish, Blue Runners and fresh LY's.
Our first stop was a limerock bottom in 75 feet of water. Grouper were hitting fast on both LY's and Pinfish for the ...

Carrabelle fishing report
Flats action is hot in spite of heavy rains, tides and muddy waters. Trout lead the action in 4 feet of water with most fish being in the 16 to 17 inch range. Reds are a little spotty, but I found some decent action in the mouth of Poston Bayou near the banks behind Lanark Reef. Mackerel are pretty ...

Fishing in Carrabelle
After several days of wet and windy conditions, we finally got a break here in Carrabelle and managed to get a decent day for fishing. Hal and Kate Botsworth were the lucky party to join me on the "Sole Searcher" for a few hrs of flats action.

Bad weather, good fishing in Carrabelle
Choppy seas, scattered thunderstorms, rain and queasy stomachs plagued my offshore charter today. However, the fish weren't bothered by bad weather and greeted our hooks with vicious bites.

"Final day"
Bright sunny skies and variable winds made for a near perfect day of flats fishing with my party of one. The Trout were a little slow to bite but were easy targets on top water plugs such as "Top Dog" and my favorite, the Storm "Big Bug." The largest Trout of the day was a nice 4 ...

Day 2
Sunny skies and SW winds greeted me and my party for the second day of the Big Bend Saltwater Classic. Trout, Mackerel and Flounder were on our agenda so our first stop was an area known as the "Hockey Hole" just outside the Carrabelle River. A nice Trout near 5 lbs slammed a Top Dog on the ...

Day 1
The Big Bend Saltwater Classic started off with mostly sunny skies and SE wind which let me and my party of 1 tuck behind the barrier islands in search of that big Trout, Mackerel or Flounder.
