I've found a hook to be the most effective
Cowboy, thanks for the tip. I've just been cutting a handfull of line off of the spool and chucking at buoys and floating debris. I'll have to ask for some of these "hooks" next time I'm at the store. I hope I'm pronouncing it correctly. :hammer: :beer ...

How to catch Tripletial
So I had my first taste of Tripletail this weekend and I must catch one but I need some advice. (I had it at Sage in Tallahassee, first visit there and it was damn good). My questions:
1.) Is there a season for them?
2.) Is time of day important? What about tides/slack tide?
3.) Most people ...

Re: Tripod Labor Day - Too Crowded?
thanks all, I think we may check it out as you are suggesting. not too afraid of the crowds themselves, just want to be able to find a spot to anchor and not worry about some rented boat with a bunch of amateurs knocking in to us. I've been there where space was limited on a non-holiday weekend so I ...

Tripod Labor Day - Too Crowded?
Thinking of taking a few friends out to the Tripod tomorrow for Labor Day but am thinking it may be too crowded to even try. Anyone been last year or on other holidays?

Re: Do you drink on the water
Does that statute in the opening post indicate that all they do if you refuse a breathalyzer is fine you $500?? No one in their right mind would ever blow given the risk of arrest if all you get is a $500 fine.

Re: Where to take the boat for a few beers near Tallahassee
Thanks for all the replies guys. no old tuna on my boat, only fresh clams! Was hoping I could put in at St. Marks so I wouldn't have to trailer the boat more than 30-40 mins, but that may have been too optimistic. (I realize I can drive the boat from St. Marks to Carabelle etc. but that seems like a ...

Where to take the boat for a few beers near Tallahassee area
Got a boat recently :-D and need some suggestions on where to take some friends out. I live in the Tallahassee area and am new to boating these waters. Friends want to come hang out on the boat but they don't fish. Any suggestions on where to take these guys/girls? I think they just want to go out ...

Re: Scalloping?
Went to Scallop Hole and Scallop Bar off St. Marks and found zero scallops. Did not take one home. Have heard that the heavy rains reduced the water salinity in that area and they have gone elsewhere. Fun day nonetheless.
I read an article that St. Joe is still good as well as Steinhatchee.

Re: Really nice boats and tackle for sale
Do you have info on the equipment? Might be interested in getting a few rods etc. Also looking for a trolling motor if you've got one. Thanks
