So far we have caught 3 slot reds (one 24") and 3 flounder from the dock using live Elwy as bait.

Any current reports from SGI Bridge to Dog Island area. Heading down on Saturday for a week. Bumping this up to see if anyone has any current reports.

Taking my 17' hydra skiff down to St George March 29th thru April 5th. I have fished with many guides in the area and can remember a few spots, but not many. Anyone want to share any holes with me? Do you think the base maps will be good enough to navigate the St George Island area, or would the Navionics chip be necessary? I have been out with many guides, but never on my own so it does make me a little nervous with the oyster bars.

The Lowrance Elite 5 HDI says it is loaded with base mapping. Does anyone know what this means exactly? Is it a good idea to use optional mapping from another source? If so, what is the best optional mapping to use with the Elite 5?

Spent time at the youth ramp in the state park. Was looking for finger mullet but did not see any. We did catch other bait minnows, a couple were bull minnows do not know what the others were. With a falling high tide, I was getting taps, finally got the hook set on one after loosing 6 or 7 minnows....
