Re: Aucilla 8/3/15
The ONLY area I'd throw the net in the Aucilla is in the cutoff. You should ease up through it on low tide so you can identify the oysters. Yes, throw up towards the muddy banks. I just use the river as my entry to the flats. Look for pods offshore,(like 1/2 mile off), once the sun comes up. On this...

Aucilla 8/3/15
Been hearing rumors that mullet are thick. Had to go check on it. Sun really never came out this morning so never saw any large schools. Had to work for them but I wound up with 30. They're decent sized and fat. Think I might need to check on them again later in the week. :-) http://i250.photobucket...

Econfina 7/10
Not much but thought I'd share. My middle daughter and I launched at 7:00 and ran West to 5.5'. Ran past some boats fishing in the 3.5' range. Anyhow, first drift was successful in that we put a 16" trout in the cooler that she caught. Threw back 2 shorts. Water was gin clear and grass plentifu...

Did you see any mullet schooling? I have been once a week for the last several weeks and haven't found them bunched up. Bummer on the battery. ![:-?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

Re: My Ding-A-Ling
No pics of cobes ff. A friend of mine asked me what I was gonna name the boat. I had just heard that song on our local oldie's station. I told him my ding a ling. He said, "you ain't got the cojones". A dare of sorts. The wife hates it. I appreciate the comments fellas.

Re: My Ding-A-Ling
Thanks silverking. I'm actually finished with the boat and have made several trips with her and had a few mullet fry's. I left some pics out of the build. First I treated the front deck, poling platform, and bench seat with white vinegar. A guy that runs a body shop recommended this application befo...

My Ding-A-Ling
:-D After years of not having anything very worthwhile to post.....I decided why start now? Well, some of y'all might like it. I've been wanting to build my own cast net boat for a while and lucked up on an old beater of a stick steer bass rig. It's a 14' Fisher Marine Bass Bateau. Not sure of the y...
Re: fire pit
Here's mine. I went to a propane dealer and purchased an old tank. You can also find them at scrap metal yards. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg248/3jsdad/IMG00105-20100906-1431.jpg?t=1291923082 I use the Weber lid for grilling. The charcoal grate is leaning on the other side. I copied this des...
