Re: Whatcha think about him now :-)
By Florida Statute, a conflict of interest does not legally exist. Scott had owned $62 million of shares in Solantic, a statewide walk-in clinic he co-founded that administers drug tests. But he signed over that controlling stock to the Frances Annette Scott Revocable Trust a few days before taking ...

Quote for asphalt parking lot in June:
"Holy S*#% this pavement is burning up my bare feet!"

Re: Tournament In Keaton this weekend
Clarification: When I said "Won't happen again" I was not referring to Reel Cowboy, but to entering any tourney hosted by this character. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...

Re: Tournament In Keaton this weekend
Like a total sucker, I responded to Reel Cowboy's sarcastic post by deciding to commit to this tourney. Got up at 3:30am to make the drive from Tally to Keaton Beach. The director happily took my $100 redfish entry and told me to be at the Keaton Beach Marina before 3pm for weigh-in. He specifically...

Re: Fishng around St Marks light house
I concur with Rainman on both counts: 1. Deep Creek levee - starting with Stoney Bayou - holds tide-dependent fish. Took me years to kinda learn the personalities of each of the tidal creeks that branch from the levee. It's a lot of hiking/exploring work, but will pay off if you are willing to get A...

Re: Tournament In Keaton this weekend
I'd consider it except from Tallahassee that's a pretty long haul to get to Steinhatchee Friday evening - graduation day where I teach - turn back around & go home, then head back the next day. Hats off to anybody from Tally who grinds out this one. I'll be interested to see how it pans out, esp...

Re: Redfish Tournament
Crazy. My two passions are running and fishing. This competitive fishing thread sounds just like competitive running threads, where somebody proposes hosting a new race, and the naysayers attack. The solution: let them give it a shot, and the market will decide. One of three things will happen: 1. S...

Details on June NFGFC Tourney?
The brilliant webmasters at my school have decided that NFGFC is a "Spam" site, so they block access to it, meaning I am locked out from club news (aside from emails). Can anybody post info on the June tournament?

Re: Jack and Jill Flats Tournament
No place to go. Rode it out on the levee. Not as scary as nearly stepping on a diamondback rattlesnake to start the day. St Marks Refuge is never boring.

Re: Jack and Jill Flats Tournament
As I did with the TallyDem outdoors reporter last month, I'll put my partner in the canoe and tow her behind me while I wade. Even if we don't catch anything, I get a pretty good workout!

Re: Jack and Jill Flats Tournament
Sure hope it is still a go; not many near-term open weekends that don't have some kinda tourney scheduled. Plus, some rain will be refreshing after all this heat! And we'll find out how many of the ladies are hardcore! Please post here this evening if you do cancel...I'll go fishing regardless, but ...

Re: ID this dead snake please
Please...that's a cottonmouth, hands down. Come wadefishing with me at the St Marks Refuge and I'll show you my patented "cottonmouth 2-step avoidance maneuver." The key aspect of this special dance is an awareness that Mr. Moccasin does not give ground. As much as I want to hate him, I go...

Put down the cast net? Blasphemy!
Oh, wait...Keyser catches trout bigger than my redfish.
Nevermind.
