Re: Broken Gamakatsu hook...
I broke several gamakatsu hooks bottom fishing. After about 3 broken (not all from the same pack) I quit using them. This was grouper fishing. Snapper fishing has not been as tough on hooks for me. I often use much less sturdy hooks for snapper and have had no problems. VMC hooks have been ...

Unusual here for sure. How deep if you don't mind? ( a range will do, I'm not looking for your spot )

Re: Stunned pinfish
Odd question, was the trap clean or dirty? I've had this happen many times. It seems like it was in the warmer months and with older traps that were pretty well covered with all sorts. Lots of barnacles, etc. I never put much thought into it because most come around. I wonder if they are stunning ...

Golf Cart Repair
Any reports on Bellamy's in Crawfordville? I have a cart that needs some work that I'm about to take there. Other suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Re: Cobia bait!
I know they use them a bunch more to the West of us but I'm not sure if they are actively sold there. Not saying they aren't and not saying they are. I just know I fished with a guide in Destin a few years back for Cobia. He ordered his and kept them at the house. I feel certain he wouldn't want ...

Och Bay Offshore 7-26-14
Ran offshore to 55ft Saturday to try and catch a few grouper. Weather was pretty rough in the morning. 2-3' turned to angry 4's. Another miss by NOAA. Bite wasn't very good for us. We got our gag limit but it was nothing to write home about. 23 to 28". Half on dead bait and half on live. It just ...

Re: Question about grouper fishing
Don't stop. Keep your arse moving until you get to the ramp. I called FWC about this specifically. Asked them if I put all my tackle/gear up after fishing could I stop for a swim at Och Shoals. They told me if I got checked I would get a ticket. Even if you are not "fishing" a stopped boat will be ...

Gonna have someone onsite for the BBSC if anyone wants to take a look inside a unit. Let me know and good luck on the water.
