Re: BIG BEND KAYAK CLASSIC
Gary, I would think if you launched at the Mounds Pool levee and fished for Bass over to Stoney Bayou where you switched to Trout and Reds you would stand a chance.

Getting wet is part of the deal. Everyone takes a shower when you get home, so what difference does it make?

Re: Sheephead rigging
Cut a piece of rubber sunglass holder and slide it on the shank of the #1 hook, they seem to hold it better rather than spitting it as they swim away.
Gut them and bake them whole with the head on. You can debone them with a fork. Also their roe is very mild compared to Mullet. Tasty!

Re: Skeptical about kayaks
Trailers are easier, but then you are pulling a trailer. I put mine on top of a Chevy Cavalier fo r4 years and never had a problem but you do get dings and scratches. I bought a Pickup 3 years and I built racks to carry it on fo r2 years. this is the first year that I carry in the bed with a T ...

Re: Skeptical about kayaks
Cotton speaks the truth. If you can afford a Hobie with pedals then you should go for it. I have used Kayaks since I was a boy so I bought a sit in Pelican 11.5 about 7 years ago and it still works with no repairs. It is slow (3 hulls for oyster bar resistance) when compared to some of the newer ...

Re: Tucker Lake/Chaires Creek
I took my disabled buddy fishing from the bridge to nowhere there on 4th of July weekend. It was a beautiful day with a 12 Knot NE wind. We caught half a dozen ladyfish and he was very happy. However, I watched hundreds of jelly fish with tentacles, they looked like Nettles Jellies (not man o wars ...

Lets do go back and read some posts, perhaps like the beginnig of this thread.
HMMMMM, Big Shrek made a point not to ask for spots when he posted the thread. Nope no bitchin there.

Re: econfina redfish
I was not actually referring to anyone on this thread because each one of these advices was helpful and I agree that Spots on the open flats are a different animal altogether. I still remember a few from my motorboat days. :-D
