I launch at the sand ramp on Research Road & run west until it opens in the bay. Fish the grass beds with topwater or soft plastics under a cork. The Cooks Bayou Marina owner's name is Lynn (850) 874-8300. The fishing is great for trout & reds just about anywhere there are grassbeds. We usually leave the bayou & head south and fish the grassbeds on both sides of the bay.

If you have not pulled the trigger, another great Garmin handheld is the Montana 600. You can add Bluechart maps to the Montana for $100 or add Google Earth/Bing Satellite images for free. I will send a link on how to load satellite images if you are interested.
