Re: Flats grass problem,need help
I had the same problem with my 14 foot jon boat with a 9.9 hp Mercury. I just had to stop every so often and clear the grass from the motor. Sorry that I don't have any suggestions. But I do feel your pain....

It was $180 out the door. I am hoping it will save me a bunch more than that though.

After reading this post I guess it is time to get myself a membership. Thanks Capt Joel for making the water a little bit safer for everyone.

Rock Guard (available at Porter's Marine)
After I bumped a rock at the Ecky, I decided to look into a skeg guard. After some research, I was told that Waivel Porter could customize one for my Yamaha. After talking with him, I decided that I was going to go with him. Mr. Porter has always been pleasant to deal with and I believe in spending ...

Piney Z 7/15/12
Got out to the lake about 6:45 AM. Fished for about 2.5 hours and caught two bass. One was about 1.5 lbs. and the other was about 2.5 lbs. Both fish looked very healthy. The smaller one was caught on a 7 inch Culprit (Moccassin color) and the other was caught on topwater.

Re: Ecofina fishing
Went out last Friday (6/29) and it seems the water is about the same. I nicked a rock on my way in also. I went ahead and dropped my boat off with Waivel Porter in Woodville to have a "rock guard" installed. I will post pictures once I get the boat back.

Econfina 6/29/12
Got to the Econfina around 12:30 PM on Friday. Ended up being a little bit choppier than I had hoped having my 6 year old. So with that, I decided to stay in around 5 to 6 feet. We ended up leaving at 4:15 PM bringing home 6 trout (three 18", two 17" and one 16"). Had to toss back two...
