We are finding the bigger snapper (over 30") between 90-125' and the best bait has changed between trips. On trip fresh cut bait beet live bait and frozen bait. One trip live bait was king and the next it didn't matter what we sent down. Heck I bet a bare hook would of worked on that trip.

Re: Shotgun recommendation
Bought my daughter an auto A71 Yildiz 20ga 5 yrs ago. I took it duck hunting once and liked it so much I bought one and have been using it for 4 years for duck, dove and turkey hunting. There is a break in period before it will eject most low brass shells. I've shot mine so much it will eject any ...

Re: Minnows
Not sure on either right now. I know minnows is what most are catching specks with. Flier's are starting to bite too. I'd bring some with you if you go just to be safe. I went down after work yesterday about 6p and the parking lot was full. Earlier in the day I was told trucks were parked on both ...

Re: Car shopping for our daughter
Been there done that twice for our girls. We have some accounts at a local credit union. They have a woman that does all the leg work for you. Tell her what kind of car the monthly payment (my girls pay their car note not me.) and she will look all over and find it and do all the haggling for you ...

Re: Idenify Gude
All I know is rude people suck. Makes no difference why. They are just saying they think they are more important than you. A big reason I am glad I don't live down south where it is often just a way of life - rude driving, rude at the bait shop, rude at the ramp and rude on the water.

Re: Cast net recommendations
Practice, practice, practice!! Stay with it and you'll learn. I had an uncle that was 5' 7" and 100# soaking wet. He could throw a 10-12' net with the best of them in belly deep water. Many different ways/techniques in throwing one.

Re: Say no to Kayak and Canoe Fees
If the money would 100% go to our public woods/waters/ramps etc. I don't see where a $20 per year fee would break anyone. Problem is the money wouldn't go to public woods/waters/ramps etc. That could be a lot of money going to an agency that is barely surviving and supposed to help/protect the woods ...

Not the call you want to get
I’m posting this story with hopes that people will read it and make wise decisions when the weather is bad and they want to hunt or fish. Later this same day the weather was still very bad I ran into 2 kids on my road (there is a landing on my road) heading to the lake with a small duck boat. I ...
