Re: school of slot reds
Had that happen a couple of years ago but it was with 40 inch fish! Fortunately we had a couple of heavier rods on the boat so that my twin boys were able to fight the ones we hooked. Re: St Marks NWR - 3 Mar 2014
I am new to the fly but have been fishing the area with spin tackle for a while. I fish by boat, bike and kayak but am really interested in finding places that give me room to fly fish. Just need to find more places that I can wade/walk and not get stuck in knee deep quicksand.

Terrier,
are you fishing on foot most of the time and are you able to find firm enough footing in those areas?

Great story and well written. I will share that with my 11 year old boys. They are hooked on inshore fishing and they will be ready to go slay them.

Atticus, I cook on big green egg and cook at certain temps. What temp do you guess you are cooking, when cooking your steaks for 12 minutes. Also, is that giving you a medium steak (warm pink center).

Re: Smoked mullet question
pecan wood and apple wood are great smoke woods. not too strong. you can find both at home depot in the grilling section. i buy them in the chunks instead of chips which allows me to have continuous smoke with out having to add chips during the cook.
