Loving my Coosa FD so far, sure the Big Rig is just an even bigger more stable version!

Re: Flats reports???
Paddled a little over 10 miles around Piney Island for one short trout and one nice 20" trout. However there were THOUSANDS of sheepshead on the flats on the east side of the island. It was flat calm with a foot or a foot and a half of water and I could see 5-6 schools of a hundred plus fish at...

Lighthouse creeks 6 Mar 2020
Took the new Jackson Coosa FD out for a spin after work. Beat feet to the Refuge and eventually got in the water around 5ish. Started the trip off right noticing my kayak wasn't turning for shit when I hit the rudder controls... Didn't properly pin my nice solid aluminum boonedox rudder on and it fe...

Re: St Marks or St Teresa Wade fishing
I'd consider keeping a piece on you just for those kinda situations! I'm all for giving them some slack but sometimes you gotta reinforce the natural order of things and protect your own hide at the same time. I've had a few close calls with them now and don't plan on messing around with them anymore.

I have but it was in a place with no vehicle access that required miles of walking to get to. No issues. I wouldn't put one somewhere that you could drive within a thousand yards of though...

Re: reel upgrades
New reel technology is pretty amazing. I can easily throw a spoon that weighs 2 grams or 1/16oz with my Shimano Calcutta. Or even a 1/16oz beetle spin https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/fr/cp0/e15/q65/66306453_2309178925815347_4984033616834068480_o.jpg?_nc_cat=102&efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9&...

Water is too hot, tides are too bad and the bottom is too mucky. You don't wanna fish there.

Never knew they had any. I had Marpan on Woodville Hwy do mine, they didn't charge me anything.

I've been anxiously checking the USGS site for the Aucilla waiting for the water to go down enough to get my kayak through there without killing myself.

2016 Mercury 15hp outboard
2016 Mercury 15hp pull start. Short shaft. Bought in North GA, never seen saltwater. Have original Bill of Sale, tools and manual. I took a test ride from the original owner and in typical fashion for a lot of my toys never had time to use it even once. 1800 gets it. PM me here, no email https://i.i...

Re: Hickory Mounds?
I was down there a week or two ago and you can make it down to the impoundment but about halfway down the dike an excavator blocked the road to head back towards the Econfina. Plenty of people out fishing though. Also the road was shit, you don't quite need 4wd but you need some ground clearance and...

Re: Strategies For Fishing After the Big Rain?
Fished the St Marks up to the powerlines, caught bass and redbreasts. No saltwater fish. Didn't see any significant amount of fish out in the middle on the graph. Current was ripping and water was super high and dirty.
