Re: Falcon Coastal XG Replacement Rod Tips
I called Bass Pro a few days ago and they don't have anyone in the store who repairs rods and reels.
So I figured I'd contact Falcon to find the exact type of Fuji tips they use and do the repair myself after ordering them from Mudhole. E-mailed Falcon this morning and got a prompt reply. The ...

Falcon Coastal XG Replacement Rod Tips
Was in Wally's World a little while ago on Tennessee Street in Tallahassee and noticed a few (two spinning, one baitcasting) Falcon Coastal XGs had been marked down to 33 bucks and some change. Thought I had found the deal of the day until I looked up and noticed all three were missing tips (and ...

Re: Pecan Wood for Smoking??
Try Walmart. I use their hickory chunks, which are around 5 bucks for a 10 pound bag I believe. I'm relatively sure they also carry pecan chunks.

Not to hijack the thread, but these are probably the most realistic looking plastic shrimp I've ever seen and the action is incredible...

Re: Gulp vs Live Shrimp vs DOA
Speaking of Gulp, has anyone tried their new jigheads? They come with a keeper that they claim holds Gulp on better than any other jig, and they're also lead free.

Re: where to catch bowfin (mudfish)
I've been catching a lot of these lately in Pilgrim Rest (right off of Hwy. 98/Coastal Hwy. in between the Wakulla Middle School and Rehwinkle road). They are plentiful and super aggressive.

Re: Looking for Z-Man Scented Shrimpz
I got excited about the zman's bait several months ago. Ordered about $50.00 worth and can't seems to catch trout with them. I rig them just like gulp.
Am I rigging wrong?
Mrs George sells them in Quitman.
How do you rig?
Which bait are you using, the Shrimpz? I've had a lot of success on ...

Re: Looking for Z-Man Scented Shrimpz
Went into Walmart in Crawfordville earlier today and was pleased to see that they now carry the Z-Man Scented Shrimpz and Paddlerz. Glad to finally have them locally, so no longer the need to order them. Love these baits, they are a great alternative to Gulp.
Re: Reds?
Monster bull reds are being caught at Alligator Point right now. Fishing off the rocks the past few days, we must have seen 10+ bull reds landed and several more break away. Also saw some very nice Black Drum and the largest Croakers I've ever seen.

Re: Sand Trout??
Speaking of Sand Trout, there's a spot off the beach in Alligator Point where we absolutely slaughtered them a couple of years ago. There's a straight shot to the beach in between two houses, not too long after you pass the road to go Bald Point State Park. People used to park on the right side of ...
