Re: Apalachicola River/ Torreya State Park

I hike there many times throughout the fall and winter. Walk down past campsite 4 and there is an easier way to fish from the bluff at that location. Near campsite one has a steep embankment and is not as deep.

Re: Bass Fishing from kayak

Jackson and Talquin are the easiest lakes where there are multiple places to launch and get to the fish. I fish Jackson often, as do several others in yaks. Iamonia is another option, though for me, I prefer the other two lakes mentioned.

Re: Deer processing without getting screwed

I never had it as bad as you described, but have wondered in the past. I decided to buy a northern tool grinder a few years back and have since processed them by myself. Whole cuts (depending upon need) are the easiest (backs strap, tenderloins, stew meat, hams) and I grind anything else. I have a c...

Re: Tough Fishing on Lake Jackson August/September

Been out there a few times in early August in my yak. Early and late before the sun either passes over or after it passes the trees were my only times for topwater. Mixed Cover near deep water were key for me. Pads, hydrilla, or penny wart mix. Not all one type. Had a couple good afternoons when sum...

Re: Big Guy in a Kayak.....need advice

If your someone who complains about a little discomfort. Don't even bother. Get a boat!!! Or better still, just stay at home in the recliner. I have found I fish more days since I have had my kayak than when I had my boat. It is so much more convenient to drag it to work in the back of the tr...

Re: Big Guy in a Kayak.....need advice

Big guy kayaker here 6' 4" 260. I have a Big Tuna now setup as a single. I almost pulled the trigger on a Cuda 14, but found the one I have used and a good price. Over the next month you will see a few more used as folks start to buy 2015 stuff coming out. Demos local are little hard to come by...

Re: FWC considering allowing silencers for hunting...

2. The National Firearms Act was enacted in 1934 and the $200 tax was quite prohibitive at the time (equivalent to $3,526 in 2014). I, for one, am grateful that the ATF did not have the forethought to automatically adjust the tax for inflation each year. $200 is a pittance compared to what it SHOUL...

Re: FWC considering allowing silencers for hunting...

Count me in for night varmint hunting. Though most city folks think silencers are like in the movies, where it makes little to no noise.
