Re: Alligator Point
Surf fishing at AP is usually hit or miss. If you're using cut bait, the catfish and sharks will keep you busy and the reds will sometimes cruise the beach during the tide changes. Some of my most fond memories from my undergrad have come from surf fishing at AP with my buddies. For example, last su...

Re: Places to stay in the keys over Christmas?
If you're looking to camp I'd suggest the Sugarloaf Key KOA. I stayed there last year and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It's adjacent to a fishing bridge and I was fortunate enough to tussle with a hound fish, some juvie yellowtail snapper and a nice sized shark right from the bridge.

Re: They're Here!! St. Marks 4/2/14
The "slams" vary from website-to-website. Last year while wade fishing around Bald Point I got my first (all keeper) inshore slam according to Calcutta (redfish/trout/flounder) and I was pretty stoked as well. It's quite the accomplishment and something to be proud of! Hope you get a keepe...

Re: Stripers and hybrids
I've been scouring Tallahassee looking for them as well and I've come up empty. A friend of mine told me they can be caught in the Ochlockonee River but I've struck out. The only place I've seen them is in the tank at Bass Pro

Awesome report. If only that cobe was 3 inches bigger!
Also, a trout/cobia/redfish IS a slam according to FWC (http://myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/recr ... -seatrout/). Scroll to the bottom; it's considered a "North Florida Grand Slam." Congrats!

Re: SGI Cut
I fished the cut two summers ago with a bunch of friends hoping for some of the bull reds that Sike's Cut is famous for, but ended up an even crazier story. We fished the beach to the right of the rocks and we were able to net a bunch of huge mullet that were being chased around by something big. Af...

Very nice! I fished fingers 1-4 yesterday with almost everything I have in my tackle box and couldn't get them to bite. You must have the secret touch.

Panacea/Levy Bay 03/22
The roommate and I took the canoe out of Bottoms Rd. on Saturday to fish around the bay and it was a so-so fishing day but the weather was beautiful. We paddled around Levy Bay all day long in search of reds, trout and flounder and we struck out using only artificials. We did, however, see another b...
