Re: Starting a 20 Johnson 4-stroke
Thanks, guys. I'll get it going for next week. I hated to miss those good tides this week. Could you tell me if an outboard can be made to steer tighter? It's so loose that if I let go of the handle for just a second it will swing around and put me into a turn. I've never heard of any kind of an adj...

Re: Starting a 20 Johnson 4-stroke
Thanks. It's at my son-in-law's house. I'll go to the store tomorrow and get some corrosion inhibitor. Is there anything good in a smaller can, like
a WD-40 can? I guess you'd spray it on, wipe it off then respray it?

Starting a 20 Johnson 4-stroke
I've let it sit for about three months, which I shouldn't have done. Pressing the starter button (after charging the battery) there's a 'crackling' sound of sparks but the starter doesn't engage. Any idea about what could be wrong?

Re: Where To Fish Suggestions?
Wakulla Beach is a long way from Panacea. You could go down the road east of the Ochlockonee River and put in at a launch there, can't think of the name of it. It's a small launch. That would put you a ways up the river, and you'd have very little motoring to do and not quite the waves. Tomorrow is ...

I have heard that fluorocarbon is not very abrasion resistant. What kind of leader would you tie onto a braid when

Re: Where to saltwater fishh in Panacea?
I know where that is. Is he talking about casting around the pilings of the bridge? I've noticed some people tied up to the bridge. Is that a pretty good place to fish with live shrimp?

Re: Where to saltwater fishh in Panacea?
There's a floating pier thing between Franklin and Wakulla by this dirt boat ramp. I caught my first flounder and red there, have seen drum and sheepshead caught out there if you can cast right to the pilings.

Sharks in the surf
Any general tips for the best time (in daylight) to catch sharks from Alligator Point beach? Incoming, outgoing, high, low? I know it's best if you can throw it a country mile or have someone kayak the bait out a hundred yards. Maybe if one would get serious about it he'd fish for them at night, but...

Catching crawdads
Can anyone steer me to a place where I can pick up a few crawdads to use for bait? I know I'll have to dose myself with bug repellant with the yellow flies so bad right now. Thanks for any info.

I busted the head unit of my treasured fishfinder. If anyone can steer me to getting one please let me know. The factory
has a set charge of $255 for any repair of this model. I don't need it that badly.

Re: Where are the fish??? Shell Point / Panacea
We fished hard Sunday, last of incoming tide. Oyster Bay, mostly the cut that's west of Shell Point. Didn't get a bite, not even a ladyfish. Used swimbait with ProCure and Gulp and popping cork. The weekend before fished the lighthouse and only managed one Spanish. Haven't tried Lanark lately. I'm c...
