Re: Best aluminum bay, flats, and bass fishing boat

Have you considered a custom build? A friend of mine had these guys build him a boat and could not be more pleased.

Re: Beware pre 2006 G3's

A buddy of mine had a custom aluminum boat built recently by this place in Long Beach, MS. https://sites.google.com/site/custombuiltaluminum/ The boat builder said under no circumstances should you use carpeted bunks with aluminum hulls that are ever dipped in salt water. He said all aluminum hulls ...

Re: Lost Yamaha Cowling

Sorry to hear about your loss; I can relate. Check lost/found in the Tallahassee Democrat paper as well as Craigslist if you haven't already. I lost a bimini several years ago on Woodville Hwy and someone picked it up and put it in the paper.

Prep for freezing

May be a little late for a reminder for some, but with the extreme cold forecast for tonight, make sure your outboard engines are trimmed straight up and down so any water can drain out. Also, anyone with a pressure washer, bring it inside if you have not drained and winterized the pump, or you will...

Yeah, John Hartford actually is the songwriter of Gentle on my Mind and of course performed it himself as well.

Gentle On My Mind

My opinion is that most of what is released to country radio today is overproduced crap. However, there are some talented young musicians out there in the genre, and I think this cover of Glen Campbell's "Gentle on my Mind" by The Band Perry is a gem. It doesn't hurt either that Kimberly P...

Thanks to all for the suggestions, and we will take what RedMann and Blue Spinner said as a good reminder of what can happen in these situations.

Firearm sales question

I am helping an elderly friend who is no longer able to drive get out of his home and into more suitable living arrangements. He is a bit of a hoarder, and over the years has collected over 50 firearms of various vintages, mostly long guns, revolvers and other pistols. I don't know much about guns, ...

Good country music

If you like good country music and are not familiar with her, give Ashley Monroe a listen. She is not an unknown in Nashville but has never gotten a lot of airplay on country radio, probably because her more traditional country sound doesn't fit the model of the overproduced crap the record labels a...

Of course that's why they call it fishing. Just when you think you've got it all figured out, it sometimes defies explanation.

Re: READ THIS!!!!

A good way to learn a lot and network with fellow inshore anglers is to join the North Florida Gulf Fishing Club. http://www.nfgfc.org/ Meetings first Thursday of each month at Beef O'Bradys on Thomasville road, and a monthly trout tournament usually the following Saturday. You can usually find a ri...

Re: C.a. Richardson NFGFC guest speaker May 1st.

I got in a little trouble that night with the wife for being out too late and leaving her with the kids because C.A. talked so long, but it was worth it! IMHO C.A. was one of the best speakers the club has had. Thanks, Steve, for sponsoring this.

Spray-in liner for new aluminum hull

A friend of mine is ordering a custom aluminum boat from this builder. He has done a lot of research on this and everything he has found out is that the boats this place makes can't be beat for quality builds to what the customer wants. https://sites.google.com/site/custombuiltaluminum/home' He is c...

That's a good one! For some blues, check this one out. David Sancious on piano, who used to play with Springsteen, ain't bad either.
