Bald Point 3/16 & 3/17

Went out to Bald Point both Monday and Tuesday with some decent luck. Monday produced one 18'' trout, one 19'' red, and a real nice size sheepshead. Tuesday produced 2 nice trout with one 18'' and another over 20'' along with 2 more nice sheepshead. All fish from Tuesday were released as Monday's ca...

Lighthouse 8/19

Tough day in some mad heat. The day started off fast with my biggest jack ever caught on a topwater. He smashed it and started pulling line, made me round the boat on time, then after about 10 he finally tired out. We then ran to the flats using a pop cork and gulp with nothing but pin fish ripping ...

Re: Lighthouse 8/6

We have tried that the last few times and a shark is always on it in a matter of two minutes. It pretty much just became a waste of time.

Lighthouse 8/6

Fished the lighthouse area from 8-12. Started in 3-4 ft of water with some short trout, sharks, and baitfish. Moved to the edge of a sandbar with some good grass and found a few more shorts with one 21'' trout. While fishing that spot I saw a spinner shark jump out of the water, that was neat. With ...

Re: Alligator point help

I don't fish that area much but I went to St. Marks last week and fished 2.5-5 and found very few trout. I have the feeling they are in 5-8 ft of water right now with the heat. Also live shrimp produced better than gulp lately. Oh course you will have to weed through the trash fish as well.

Re: sailcats

This is why I quit using live or cut bait most of the time.

Bald Point 6/9/14

Fished the incoming tide using a gold spoon. Caught 3 keeper spanish along with some lady fish and needle fish. Lots of rays and sharks out there so watch out if you wade. I threw a few times off the pier and had a tarpon come up to hit the spoon but missed. Oh and the 100 deet works as far as keepi...

Re: Alligator Point Advice

Yes the waters are still murky and the yellow flies will make you want to drown yourself. I would suggest using 100 deet. I have been catching spanish, trout, flounder, and reds so far this year. Oh and those pesky catfish...

Re: Alligator Point Advice

Didn't see any rays but did find a massive school of reds tailing. Ended up catching jacks, trout, reds, and black drum. Pretty great day other than the horse flies.

Re: Alligator Point Advice

Thanks for that advice, thats exactly what I was looking for. I currently have a red/white top dog jr hooked up ready to go with a pop cork on the side rigged and ready to go if no top water action. Google Maps show some splotchy areas in the sand at those openings you named after the sand ramp and ...

Alligator Point Advice

I have seen advice for Alligator Point Beach but I'm looking more for the bay side. I have seen some spots to pull over on the side of the road off 98 and plan on trying them tomorrow. I saw a spot with a lot of poles sticking out of the water and was wonder what that was and what kind of fish run t...

Re: Pier Fishing Advice

We ended up missing the morning time due to a headache caused by a few adult beverages but still made it for about 5 hours in the afternoon. It didn't sound good once we got there as far as reports go. I tried the advice I received for some Spanish but they were non existent. So for a shot in the da...

Re: Pier Fishing Advice

That all sounds like solid advice. I will focus on Spanish, pompano, and flounder with yalls help. I think we also have one large rod that I will throw a cigar minnow on in hopes for a king. I had no clue about getting there that early. I was planning on hitting the peak time ezfishin.com said which...

Pier Fishing Advice

I am going pier fishing for the first time Tuesday in Panama City Beach. I promised a friend that I would take her to catch some good fish and the pier seems to be producing so lunkers right now. I'm just looking for some advice for rigs and bait. Anything helps and I will provide a report after the...
