Re: Reel suggestions

I'm not ashamed, I buy the best the cheapest I can find. Often times off the net. If you want my money, you work for it just like me, hard labor! I completely agree. For those of you who do shop at Academy and have any suggestions please let me know, especially if maybe there is something we don't ...

Re: Reel suggestions

Yea which I can understand that, but they should really sell to both markets even If they have a lower stock of the higher end stuff for those of us who want a little higher quality. Not to mention they would have a better prices sales than bass pro, but I will definitely make that suggestion and se...

Re: Reel suggestions

I'm a big fan of the Shimano Stradic Ci4+. My 2500 handles just about anything on the flats but tarpon. By the way, is the Academy in town ever going to sell higher end fishing rod and reels? Seems like they only have entry level rod and reels. Funny you ask that squirm, I am going to go out on a l...

Reel suggestions

I am currently in the process of upgrading my equipment. The Penn Sargus is by far my favorite reel. I have had mine for 4 or 5 years, give or take. Re: mosquito lagoon questions

The nearest bridge is haulover canal you will automatically come acrossed that when you enter the canaveral national seashore refuge. If you put in there i would say that it would be about a 6 mile ride to whale tail, but depending on what kind of boat your throwing in and the water depth you could ...

Re: mosquito lagoon questions

That is my home water. Any time i get to go home for a few days it is always planned around a trip to the lagoon in the yak. I personally prefer the south end; closer to NASA's launch pad. There is a big flat there that produces so real nice reds ranging from slot to big bulls.I have yet to catch an...

Re: My 1st Inshore Slam 5/20

Congrats on the slam, not a bad way to spend the day. I go to fsu as well and often find myself doing the same thing when i get the oppurtunity. It seems as though panancea has been producing pretty well as of late. I went out saturday in the yak for 2 1/2 hrs and snagged a couple reds and 3 nice tr...
