Re: Piney Z Lake 7/4/13
BG = bluegill or coppernose if theyre big and mature theyll have a copper patch on their nose. Bulls school off shore suspended just below the thermocline in summer or on the bottom on humps or breaks. RES = red ear sunfish. Aka shell crackers. A more difficult fish to find. Theyre always offshore o...

Piney Z Lake 7/4/13
It was raining as we pulled up at 2. We had to wait 10 minutes for it to die down before we could unhook the trailer and roll her on down. Surface temps were in the low 80s and the water level was up a foot and a half over full pool. Wind was out of the SE, but later switched to directly from the ea...

Lake Talquin (Williams Landing) 6/29/13
We arrived at the dock at 9am. It was cloudy and drizzling rain. I cast netted for shad for cut bait but all I caught was BG and spotted sunfish. We tried the cove without much luck and went around the williams point to fish the calm shoreline there with zero luck. At 11 we moved to fish a main lake...

Lake Hall 7/1/13
We arrived at noon to overcast skies. We moved around the edge starting from the swimming area. We then moved to the north side of the lake where we moved down the Pad edge. After catching nothing but smaller BG and shellcrackers, we moved to bass alley in the NE cove to fish the deepwater weeds in ...

Piney Z Lake 6/24/13
We arrived at 1pm to threatening skies. The wind was coming from the North initially but later shifted to the south it was usually around a steady 5 mph with gusts during the storm. Surface temps were 87 and fluctuated slightly, and the sky was overcast and half the lake was rainy. We trolled to the...

Re: Lake Jackson (Crowder rd) 6/16/13
Theres' a lot less open water on the 27 side, but you can get to the sink holes from there easily. That's where I would have gone.

Lake Talquin (Coe Landing) 6/22/13
I was tired as hell from driving back from Gainesville and editing a last minute video project for a client the night before and I almost decided not to go. As the alarm rang at 5:30 I begrudgingly pulled myself out bed. I had to, its the full moon. This was probably the first morning I have fished ...

Re: Lake Jackson (Crowder rd) 6/16/13
Good job, the water is so clear and shallow that from a high position you could almost spot fish for bass I would think.

Re: Piney Z 6/3/13
Ah, the good ole days when it was private right? I've been out many many times in a canoe, I always bass fished and never caught anything prior. Its just recently that I realized I could hand roll my trailer and full size boat (motor taken off) and really fish this lake. I definitely dont miss the c...

Re: Lake Jackson (Crowder rd) 6/16/13
Just stay to the open water edges of the pads. There's only about 2 ft of separation between the weeds and the surface so your're probably gonna go top water or diving bait with a short bill.

Re: Lake Hall 6/18/13
tight lining is bottom fishing with a tiny split shot or no split shot. You keep a tight line and feel for the bump and take em. Sometimes if I'm having trouble with them feeling the line tightness, Ill leave some line floating and when it unravels I set the hook. Sometimes bigger BG or especially s...

Ocklockonee River (Hwy 90) 6/20/13
We arrived at 2:30pm after picking up bait at Rivers. It was overcast, and the river seemed to be at normal water levels. Water temps varied between 78 and 82 and the wind was out of the South. This was my first time fishing the river above Coe Landing. I considered going to Coe today, but I felt it...
