Lake Hall 6/18/13
We arrived at the boat ramp at 2pm. The wind was out of the SE at 8mph and surface temps were 88. There was a bad cloud overhead so we took shelter for 15 min and I tied fluorcarbon leaders for 5 poles until it passed over. We attempted drifting open water for the first 2 hours and only caught a LMB...

Lake Jackson (Crowder rd) 6/16/13
I wasnt planning on fishing today, but at the last instant I decided I wanted to hit up Lake Jackson again. My first experience wasnt great, the water was low at Millers, the deepest spot I could find was about 8ft. We did blow up some shell crackers while we were out there. I arrived at Crowder at ...

Caturday at Lake Talquin (Stoutamire Landing) 6/15/13
We arrived at Stoutamire landing at around 10am. Water temps were 85 on the surface and wind was about 15mph out of the east. I figured we had arrived too late to fish the shallows, so we anchored on a couple offshore spots in the channel in Freemans creek. We were fishing for BG and shell cracker a...

Re: Lake Hall 6/10/13
That's exactly my philosophy as far freshwater goes, just catch and catch and catch. As long as its not a gar, bowfin or carp. I keep a pole rigged for bass if they pop up on the sonar, which they do quite often. Besides I catch a bass every 10th fish anyways. I usually end up catching a few less ba...

Piney Z Lake 6/13/13
Dropped the boat in at 4pm to threatening skies. Water temps were 95 with a 8mph wind out of the southwest. We fished the northwest corner of the lake to start out because the water was cooler over there. We immediately found some shell crackers and BG holding near the bottom in 5.5ft of open water....

Lake Talquin (Stoutamire Landing) 6/12/13
Dropped the boat at Stoutamire landing around 2pm. We had an alright day, but ran out of bait at 5, so we were forced to jig and use crank baits the remaining time. The surface temps peaked at 95, and the shallow fish were holding in about 5-6ft. We caught some BG, a 4lb Channel cat and a LMB. LMB w...

Re: Lake Hall 6/10/13
We go out and target high numbers fish. The biggest key to Lake Hall is you must have a fluorocarbon leader, I like to have one even if I'm retrieving baits. For the most part I'm usually just out to have a good time and get on the water, and not deal with snags bottom bumping for bass during the mid...

Lake Hall 6/10/13
Dropped the boat in at 4pm after a brief 30 minute rain and thunder delay. We initially had planned to bob and tight line the weed edge in 15ft in search of Big Shell crackers and Blue gills, but since it was overcast I was getting good bottom reads in the shallow weed gaps. We fished around the pad...

Re: Piney Z 6/7/13
I know, theyre really really hard to find unless theyre bedding on the full moon. I need to check out more open water drop offs, and structure to find them consistently during the day at talquin. The problem with Talquin is there is too much good structure all over that lake. I think I know what off...

Lake Talquin (Stoutamire Landing) 6/8/13
I put in at noon at Stoutamire landing. Went across the lake to go hunt down some friends to get some fresh bream for catfish bait, because my cast net tore on a stump at the end of the ramp. The ladies caught a few catfish and several handsize blue gill. They had a 5lb channel break them off while ...

Piney Z 6/7/13
Decided to bank fish today. It looked like some of the bank fishers got the idea of dropping a jon in Piney Z because we saw two out on the water on friday afternoon. We took the mile walk to the Piney Z, lower Lake laffayette dike and fished from the benches over there. There are way more fish on t...

Piney Z 6/3/13
We dropped the boat in at 3pm to an overcast and slightly rainy at times day. First we fished the cypress stands for a few hours and caught several hand size brim, a 1.5lb Yellow bullhead, a peanut bass and 2 15lb softshell turtles. We fished 300ft of the northern half of the middle dike and didnt e...

Lake Talquin (Stoutamire Landing) 6/6/13
Put in at Stoutamire landing near the dam. Caught 5 8-10lb Channel cats and 3 Hand size Blue gill. We fished for about 5 hrs and it was raining the entire time. The main lake was white capping the last 3 hours out. We caught them in the mouth of Freemans creek on cut bait fished to the ledges of the...

Lake Jackson (Millers Landing) 5/24
We dropped the boat in at 3 at Millers landing. I couldnt quite find the drop off and I didnt want to go too far out in the water even though I was driving a 4x4 so we launched the boat dry. The water needs to rise about 4 more feet to return to its former glory in the late 90s. As soon as we launch...

Lake Iamonia 5/25
After leaving Carr lake, I headed over to Iamonia to check it out since it first filled. I expected it to be a PITA to launch like it was a couple months ago, but to my surprise the county had installed a new floating dock similar to Williams and Coe landing at Talquin and the flood waters had reced...
