St Marks east flats 8/17/16

We had a west to sw wind today, with hot water temperatures as usual. Our day started about 2 hrs before the peak tide. We caught pins, and went to a productive bank near the creek mouths on the flats. We freelined and tossed corked pins and quickly got about 6 reds. After the outgoing tide we ran t...

St Marks 8/6 Fishing report: Red fish Revenge

I am back. After a long hiatus because of my business taking off, I will be writing weekly fishing reports again. It was a nice overcast day that started with a massive storm system 30 mile south. The storm system kept most of the blue bird boats off the water. The bird rack only had about 7 booze c...

Lake Jackson, Lake Iamonia New Moon of June 2014

This past two weeks, I've had the honor of being able to fish with CrappieLimits a few times. Although I already knew he was great fisherman, our last trips have shown me he is one of the best freshwater guys in this area. Theres a lot of great freshwater fisherman, some guys are spot guys, some guy...

Lake Talquin, Jackson and Iamonia June Full moon 2014

We fished Talquin on thursday 6/12, we were in the third day of a very slowly falling water condition. We caught some nice bluegills on the main lake, before trolling for crappie along the Harvey creek channel. We trolled to harvey creek at the end of the cove and gave it up. We were told later the ...

Lake Jackson 5/29-5/30/14 The New Moon of May

My phone corrupted my photos from 5/29 so I had to come back out today and crush them again and take photos of our epic fishing experience. We were going to fish Talquin for the big moons of june and may, since Talquin has a nearly inexhaustable supply of panfish, but my water pump busted on the way...

Re: Lake Talquin 5/21/14

Anytime you need advice on crappie, shoot me a PM. Especially, on Talquin. I been fishing it for over 20 years and can catch a limit of crappie most days of the year. Summer crappie patterns are in 12 to 18 foot flats adjacent to the creeks. Early morning and late afternoon in the spring fed creeks...

Re: Lake Talquin 5/21/14

An I thought you never had a bad day! Hum……but it turned out to be a good day after all. Some of my bad days are the ones I learn the most. Thanks for the good honest report! I have had tons and tons of bad days. We took my 35' boat out at St Marks, fished the outgoing tide at 4 mile creek and caug...

Lake Talquin 5/21/14

Today was supposed to be a good day to fish with 3 daytime feeding times and two major feeds at the beginning and end of the day. The main lake started out at 75 and reached mid 80s by the end of the day. There was almost no wind today. We got out a little late and missed the morning feed so I cant ...

Good report, did you troll minnows or multi jigs along the creek channel ledge? Any size to those shell crackers?

Lake Talquin 5/14/14 and 5/16/14

I'm gonna keep 5/14 brief. We fished the full moon and made all 3 feeding times. The conditions were great for this full moon of May, surface temps were in the high 70s and touched the 80s in the afternoon. There was a little wind and an approaching storm front on both sides of the lake that wouldnt...

Re: 4/28/14 Lake Jackson

We call em Toads when they begin to look like adult Coppernose Bluegill. They can have a range of colors at this stage. This one we caught was the most beautiful Bream I've ever seen, it had a light blue also on its face that was not picked up by the camera. We had caught over 200 the previous few t...

Re: Lake talquin Bream/shell cracker

If the main lake is still in the 60s the specks should still be around I would think. Bream and shell crackers should be going on bed this full moon like they did last year, look for the good ones just off the pads in calm waters.

4/28/14 Lake Jackson

This is gonna be a brief one. We made it out an hour prior to the morning major feeding time. To our dismay the wind was a steady 12mph out of the east/southeast with gusts up to 25mph. The wind significantly reduced the morning feed in my opinion. We caught almost 200 fish over the last 2 April new...

Lake Jackson 4/26/14

Today was the 1st day of the 1st 3 days of the new moon. The surface temperatures started in the mid 70's and by noon had reached 80. By 3pm the surface temps peaked at 83 on the main lake The wind was stagnant and the water appeared to be a cloudy light green from a recent zooplankton explosion on ...
