Re: Best plan to catch Reds out of St. Marks?

Those may have been black drum you saw tailing. Sheepshead will tail also and they can get thick there. Not saying you are wrong, just saying there are a lot there. I'd say they were Black Drum as well, went out there last week at dawn in the canoe with a buddy and caught two in the 10-15lb range. ...

Re: Now you are FORCED to take a survey to get a license

It's my understanding Louisiana has been surveying and are finding the feds best scientific information guesses are way over what LA is finding in actual surveys. It's not perfect but it's better than what we have with the feds. I'm all for helping the Gulf States get back control of the Gulf and r...

Re: Thinking about starting Turkey Hunting

Very interesting Demon. The place that I am hunting has a very large pond/swamp that I duck hunt in as well, plus there are a few other places on the property that hold water as well. That may give me some better places to start looking. In regards to locating them - I would start there  L...

Re: Lobster Mini Season

IMO Bahia Honda waterfront camping is the best camping on the entire Florida coast. It's like camping in a postcard with all the amenities. Was my vacation spot for 11 years for two weeks. I need to get back down there. You have to plan that one way ahead, huh! I agree! Last year was our first stay...

Re: Wade Fishing Ochlockonee Bay

Thanks to all for the kind words! Thank you for thinking about future fish generations SIR !! And after days of consideration, over this post, I have come to the conclusion that - THAT Red had a MUCH better chance at survival, being released, EVEN AFTER BEING ON YOUR STRINGER, than it would inside y...

Re: Wade Fishing Ochlockonee Bay

Not to good to put a fish of any kind on a stringer and then decide to release it. It may swim away ok but it still may not survive. BTW, why release a red just because you caught the flounder.? While that is a fair point, I completely disagree. They were strung through the bottom lip as to not dam...

Wade Fishing Ochlockonee Bay

My little brother and some friends came up to visit this past weekend so we decided to head down to the coast to do some wade-fishing. We ended up on Ochlockonee Bay and it wasn't long before we found some action. We got into a few schools of pup reds, and we eventually found some of size. We ended ...

Re: Places to stay in the keys over Christmas?

If you're into camping - RV & primative alike - I'd take a look at Bahia Honda State Park. The park itself is beautiful, and the campsites they offer are gorgeous and incredibly affordable! Great proximity to Key West, and not too far from Marathon and the rest of the upper Keys either. I stay t...

Re: Wade Fishing Panacea 10/24 (First Report)

Good report, congrats. Best way to land a flatty when wading, reel the fish up to your belly then sandwich the fish between your hand and your belly/chest. Good luck Thank you!! I'll do just that when(if) I hook into another. Here is the flounder by the way, http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb72/...
