It's the sunscreen. Something about it they don't like.

Reminder about Australian Gold Sunscreen vs Flies
I think it was a couple years ago someone on this forum pointed me to this for the seasonal biting flies out right now. I was under attack Friday and remembered I had some Australian Gold on board. It really works, stopped 95% of the landings on my legs that were driving me crazy. I got mine on ...

Where should I meet them? Sandy beaches like mashes sand's, bald point, ochlockonee shoals?

Random Pompano
I have caught 2 random pompano (not Jacks) the last couple of months near St Marks. Caught fishing with a float for trout on flats near a channel. The same areas I have fished for years and never seen a pompano. I wondered if others have caught them and how best to target them in our area.

Re: Free Penn Reel w/ Fenwick Rod
Been there, sorry. Your drift might have prevented success, but one time I retrieved mine with the fish still on by making multiple casts with a heavy treble hook bait to find the line and then the rod. Your short line with the fish at the net probably would have limited this technique though.

24 in Gag at Rotary Reef
Whoda thought it. I rarely expect anything other than pelagics at a public reef. I pounded my way out to Rotary Reef in significantly greater than the 1-2 foot waves predicted Sunday morning to see if any Cobia were still around. South wind, water was 78 degrees with about 7-8 feet visibility. I had ...
