I tried this at a popular bankfishing spot today, but not where everybody stands and catches all the Redfish . I caught a Redfish on the 3rd throw. A few throws later I hung a bull which finally cut me off on a rock and there went my homemade lure. I put on a normal Gulp rig and caught 1 ...

Re: 12/9, Trout & Mullet on a MirroLure??

I’ve caught more than a few but not a ton on inline spinners baited with worms. I’ve also had them follow this 1 certain vintage lure that I have, that has a metal chrome lip. The sun was making it flicker like a light from a tower that particular day so I think that had something to do with it ...

Bank fishing for mullet spots

I haven’t been mullet fishing yet, and I haven’t been fishing at all as much as I’d like. That happens to everybody every now and then, even me. I did catch some nice ones on the Aucilla one day, including my first above average size bass in a while. Before that I’d been a few times to my secret ...

Re: End of April Report

I made a bad decision to go on downriver to what’s called Middle Aucilla, pretty far into it after the the end of the upper no less, so I wouldn’t have to fight logs. Instead I fought current. Lure fishing was out. All I caught was a Blackfish and he destroyed my lure. It had to be live bait down ...

Re: End of April Report

My boat totally leaked, but not where the welder fixed it and what leaked was fixable with JB Weld so that’s done. The upper Aucilla is a disaster and I made so much noise with the chainsaw and banging the boat where I didn’t chainsaw that I didn’t think I was going to catch anything. I didn’t have ...

O yeah…totally normal. I’m sure I’ll be making a similar report after Monday when I go. I got my boat back from the welder today.

So basically all is going normal to start a fishing season if you’re anything like me.

Re: Local reports????

The dude who runs that FB page will always be great. He’s always out there posting the pictures and having fun, and his comedy relief is gold. He really could be on TV. Besides that though that group has been taken over by the kind of people who take things over for the worst, including 1 dude who ...

Re: Econfina the last few weekends

It almost looks like you could drive to that Cabbage Creek on Google maps. Almost…not quite. And I’m sure if you got out and walked you’d walk to what’s at the start of every creek. Muck. But maybe I’ll try it anyway.

Re: St Mark's 9/5-6

Good story, and as much as I liked the fishing report part my 2 favorite parts were the kitty and the crinkle cut french fries. All french fries now are those lame shoe string fast food things. If you’re lucky you get those better, but not as good as crinkle cut sliced ones.

Re: Sharks or Gators?

Try paddling between the two boat ramps at Fenholloway and there are some HUGE grey back gators in there.
Yes, I paddled a canoe with my buddy from the Spring Creek Bridge on 98 to Peterson's Landing (the last ramp before you get to the Gulf) on the Febholloway (Spring Creek runs into the ...

Re: Aucilla trip

What did the bream fisherman have? I was looking for mullet at the Rise and bream fishing with a lure just to make a day out of it after there were no mullet and I pulled out a big Shellcracker which I had never done on a lure unless you count the time I caught one on a spinner.

Re: I’ve been fishing in the same spot for almost a whole year

6-12 I went to the upper Aucilla for the first time since it flooded before this time. So it’d been about 3 years as I said in the first post, and it wasn’t quite right yet by the eye test. On top of that a tree was down at all 3 landings I checked out. I almost said forget it and just didn’t go but ...
