Re: Local reports????

The dude who runs that FB page will always be great. He’s always out there posting the pictures and having fun, and his comedy relief is gold. He really could be on TV. Besides that though that group has been taken over by the kind of people who take things over for the worst, including 1 dude who ...

Re: Econfina the last few weekends

It almost looks like you could drive to that Cabbage Creek on Google maps. Almost…not quite. And I’m sure if you got out and walked you’d walk to what’s at the start of every creek. Muck. But maybe I’ll try it anyway.

Re: St Mark's 9/5-6

Good story, and as much as I liked the fishing report part my 2 favorite parts were the kitty and the crinkle cut french fries. All french fries now are those lame shoe string fast food things. If you’re lucky you get those better, but not as good as crinkle cut sliced ones.

Re: Sharks or Gators?

Try paddling between the two boat ramps at Fenholloway and there are some HUGE grey back gators in there.
Yes, I paddled a canoe with my buddy from the Spring Creek Bridge on 98 to Peterson's Landing (the last ramp before you get to the Gulf) on the Febholloway (Spring Creek runs into the ...

Re: Aucilla trip

What did the bream fisherman have? I was looking for mullet at the Rise and bream fishing with a lure just to make a day out of it after there were no mullet and I pulled out a big Shellcracker which I had never done on a lure unless you count the time I caught one on a spinner.

Re: I’ve been fishing in the same spot for almost a whole year

6-12 I went to the upper Aucilla for the first time since it flooded before this time. So it’d been about 3 years as I said in the first post, and it wasn’t quite right yet by the eye test. On top of that a tree was down at all 3 landings I checked out. I almost said forget it and just didn’t go but ...

I’ve been fishing in the same spot for almost a whole year

:smt012 :smt012 :smt012

With everything flooded the last 2 years etc etc etc. And in the place I was fishing, which you can guess, it was to black for mullet fishing. I hate going fishing in the same place over and over so it is on next week. I saw today that the Aucilla is finally right again on ...

Re: Local reports????

FB is king of the masses. Also our region has took a hit even more in that regard because of a FB group that has taken off in the last year. The guy who runs it goes fishing every week, and sometimes every day, and he could be on TV and revive the old timey variety TV show he’s so hilarious.

Re: Anyone ever fish the freshwater side of Hickory Mound?

Almost everything I’ve ever caught there was on the freshwater side on the incoming tide in the 1 well known spot. I wonder though if that’s just the 1 school of Redfish that swims in through that pipe every time. I’ve never put in there and fish that whole impoundment. I’ve never seen anybody do it ...

Re: Still Learning, St. Marks, 7/5/04, long, **UPDATED**

In 2004 I hadn’t caught my first mullet yet. I caught my first 1 and a few more in 2007 I think it was, which was 1 of those 2 or 3 years in the 2000s where they were sardine thick in the rivers. I didn’t catch anymore again until I finally learned how. In other words I didn’t just catch 1 because ...

Re: Snakebit.... St Mark's 4/19 and Keaton 4/20

I miss the days when every restaurant had crispy crinkle cut french fries. But besides that that was a great story.

Re: Where do the sheepshead go?

They’re like Specks in my experience. They’re always out there just not schooled up in the most streamlined spot.
